Anyone Familiar with who trained Eddie Machen after he had a falling out with Dave Mills. This would be before eddie went to jail either before the three amatuer fights or after. I read in Ring that it Was Christie Louis but searching here on Boxing rec I founds a fighter who was fighting at the time Eddie was. I think they spelt the name wrongand it was Nathan Christy Lewis a club fighter whose career was cut short on a failed rape attempt by a girl who shot him. He was John Henry Lewis's brother. He died in Oakland in 1967 and may have been In cali at the time to manage Eddie. Also did Christy manage eddie when Dave Hughes manage him. I know when Sid took over Al Silvani was his trainer.

When Sid Flaherty managed Machen, Danny Rodriguez trained him. I’m not sure of the dates of this relationship, but both Sid and Danny can be seen with Machen in the Liston fight.

dont know much about Machen's trainers in his pro career,
but if they were like his various managers,
I read (somewhere) that after Eddie Machen was released from the hospital in early 1960
( with an undisclosed Mental Ilness")
he fired his manager Bill Swift.
in early 1963 he fired Sid Flaherty (who was his manager at the time)
and hired a real Estate developer named Walter Minskoff as his manager,
who gave him 1,000 dollars a month
along with a 5,000 dollar signing bonus.

Thanks I didn't know about danny but the others Minscoff and swift i knew that. I thought it was quite teh scandal when they had eddie promised a rematch before the fight with Iggy which he lost and Iggy got sued and won because they said his promoter didn't have the authority to sign his rematch clause to fight ingo so the contrcat was null and void
