A very interesting matchup. Fitzsimmons may well have the edge in toughness which would keep him in there, and a live threat the whole time.
I agree though that Foster was probably more technically advanced, and if he could keep Fitz at bay with his jab, could break him down over the course of the fight.
There's little footage of Fitz surviving now, but considering the accomplishments he had, he obviously would've been no pushover for a man his own size. So this would've been a great battle.
I will also give the nod to Foster here, but we may all be underestimating ol' Fitzy.

This is an interesting one. Fitz has an odd style. He didn't fit neatly into any particular style. He really wasn't a boxer or a slugger or a pressure fighter. Maybe that helped him as opponents had to adapt to him. Pound for pound, he had unbelievable power.
On the other hand, Foster was a great fighter in his own right. He had great power as well. This is a fight that could change in an instant with one big punch.
