Calzaghe: "I Want Kessler"

I was sifting through the free Metro paper this morning on my way to Shrewsbury and amongst the Hopkins-Eastman feature (which seems to have caught the imagination of the media in this country) was a little Calzaghe piece. It says:

"WBO Super Middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe wants a unification showdown with Denkark's Mikkel Kessler this summer. The 32 year old Welshman was in Belfast to announce his latest defence, against local hero Brian Magee at the Kings Hall on March 18th, but has his sights on WBA champion Kessler. Calzaghe said: "I would love a unification fight and Kessler is a possibility. Hopefully that fight can be made but first i have to deal with Magee and show the i'm still the best Super Middleweight in the world"

Not sure how beating Magee will re-affirm his slipping status as the best SM in the world but whatever makes him happy, at least he is a bit more active. As for the Kessler matchup, well i get the feeling after originally giving thumbs down on Kessler it all seems a bit convenient now to be talking about fighting him, but often all Calzaghe does it talk about fights without them actually happening

I would give the Irish more credit than that.
Is Calzaghe against Magee the biggest selling fight on the card??

Far as I know no opponent has been named for him as yet.

It may be the biggest fight they`ve had over there for awhile, but the Calzaghe v magee won`t be the best :-? I really hope I`m wrong, but styles making fights, I see this stinking the place out
