Tucker would deal with Green without much problems. A wide dec or late stoppage.

x4 like Dr. Duke said, Tucker would deal Green without any problems by out-jabbing and countering him with quick combinations to take either a decision or late round stoppage.

I don't understand the fascination of Green. He was a journeyman.
Nothing to get excited about

When he was decent, he around 16-2-1. They took his fight with Bonecrusher away from him, a fight he could have won. Like a lot of 80's fighters, a situation or two from greatness.

Who did he beat that was even close to a james bonecrusher Smith?
The guy was is and will always be one of those fighters that's fan base thinks higher of him than he did himself

Agreed. I think his career/potential was also curtailed by an injury?

Possibly, In Mitch's case, he had some drug issues.

Ive never understood the hype on Green. He had a decent jab and good chin but nothing exceptional at all for a guy his size.He never displayed any special potential .

Same here. He got in a street fight with Tyson once. Otherwise there is nothing noteworthy about him. At all. So why the obsession with him lately? Why not James Broad? Eddie Gregg?

Oh yes he did -- both as an amateur (4 times Golden Gloves Champion) and as the heavyweight prospect with the best jab in Don King's camp.

No offense but plenty of amateurs shine with promise but fail to produce as pros. and as important as a good jab is( it can win fights) Green still seems pretty average

None taken. I get that. But there's no denying Green was a pretty hot prospect at the time.
Maybe most of the mystique arises from his connection with the Warriors movie, his personality, and that after hours street fight with Tyson.

PS -- he also did have exceptional hand speed (and whiskers) for his size

Indeed. Was a member of the Black Spades with Iran Barkley, who has spoken on his toughness.
