he's part chinese and was originally called 'wong time', but the announcer mispronounced it and 'one time' stuck ever since

Keith "one time a year" Thurman....
Supposedly Garry Russle Jr is suing him for it, saying he deserves it more. Make or break moment for Russle seeing as his moniker is maybe the worst in boxing.... Garry "mr" Russle Jr. Fuking hell that is trash.

Keith Thurman has previously said that he held no nickname until he was 8-0 with 8 first round KO's.. He then decided to go with "One Time". He also said his father was a street fighter that had the nickname "One Time".

He didn't explain in the interview. However, my guess is that street opponents only messed with him "one time".
