Welsh Heavyweight hope Scott Gammer kept his title hopes alive when he beat on points previously unbeaten London fighter Micky Steeds 59-56 over 6 rounds at Brighton last night.

The 28-year-old Heavyweight, from Pembroke Dock, took his unbeaten run to 13 before his official eliminator against English champion Mark Krence in Sheffield on Apr 5.

That sounds like it will be a good old fassioned domestic match up. Possibly as good as for the british title as skelton looks like going the WBF rout

The British Heavyweight scene may not be overflowing with World beaters but there are a lot of compatative matches out there featuring Williams, Skelton, Harrison, Hide, Krence, Gammer, Sprott and McDermott.

Incidentally, David Barnes is out of his British title defence against Bradley Pryce at Widnes on March 4 with 'flu. The show has been scrapped.

The Boxrec database has Gammer fighting a Mickey Steeds whom was listed as 0-0-0.

We also have a undefeated Heavyweight listed from the Isle Of Dogs called Michael 'Micky' Steed. I believe this is the correct opponent and the other is a 'double entry' (no jokes please!!!)

I am in contact with some other editors to confirm this before I alter it.

DOH!!!

I woke up this morning with a lousey cold/flu. Not sure if I have the energy to stay awake for the big fight tonight, may have to catch the Sunday morning PPV repeat.

Joe - it's the Steeds from the Isle of Dogs, definitely.

I, too, woke up with a cold this morning for the first time in ages.

Looking forward to Gammer - Krence. I want to see how the styles mesh (will probably regret saying this).
