what different versions could we have, with what them and their fans/team say?

i'll start with big tyson - having 'lineal' and 'ring magazine' on there will get you sozzled within minutes. add in

conor benn - 'learning fight' 'on the job' 'improving' 'explosive' 'a couple of years'

what others would get you hammered quick, gotta take a drink every time

You spend much more time railing against Fury fans and their supposed obsession with lineal/etc, than Fury fans ever spend talking about it themselves as far as I can see**. You're much more obsessed in undercutting any talk of lineal titles, than they are about talking about them. But keep on pretending it's someone else's obsession, it's clearly fun for you :yay:

which is to say if there is any drinking game to be done here, it's 'every time maggie goes on as though boxrec is full of Fury fans who mention the lineal title in every single thread'. maybe these people exist and I just haven't seen them, who knows :maybe:

** honestly in the last 6 months you're the only poster I can actually remember having this obsession with Fury and lineal title/ etc.

you sound like fun at the party :OhYes:

bruh, it's everywhere, basically fury, his team, his fans, had to do it constantly as he had no actual belt (and now 1 vs 3), you'll find plenty more than 1 person mentioning it :TU:

on here? on this forum? where? other than you, who was the last poster who made multiple references to Fury being lineal?

you make 3 or 4 in the same thread, so they've got a pretty high bar to match haven't they?

for example there was just a thread about it that i didn't start, 3 or 4 pages :TU:

i dont think there's any other fighter in history who has had as much made of their lineal status - can you? which ones? looking at fan talk, press releases, commentary, interviews, reports, fight hyping......no one comes close from what I can see. if you think this is somehow all my creation, then i'm flattered ! sure gets a response from mick each time :yay:

i don't bother with any of that. it doesn't strike me as being nearly as prevalent on here as you say, but who knows, you clearly pay much more attention to these things than I do.

now, if you want a really over-used cliche, Frank Buglioni 'ticketseller' back in the day really was used excessively.

Probably because those guys have always had other physical belts, so they'll mention the person is the WBC/WBA/WBO/IBF Champion.

When Tyson retained against Wilder, the announcer said, still WBC Lineal heavyweight champion.

They never mention Ring Mag.. Unless it's the only belt they hold.

Remember Kelly Pavlik. Didn’t he have like a job or something?

Hopkins in his last few years another obvious one.

It used to be Canelo’s Gingerhair but they’ve mercifully packed that in.
