I looked at boxing24forum.com under the classic category and that user admitted that he was too lazy to check the fighters' age when they each won the cruiserweight title. The other users thought Holyfield was the youngest to win cruiserweight championship at 23, but that wasn't true because the late "Sugar" Carlos DeLeon won his first cruiserweight championship at 21 after he beat Marvin Camel on November 25, 1980 on the same card as the "No Mas" fight rematch between Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran. Also, Virgil Hill was the oldest man to win the cruiserweight title at 42 when the WBA was the regular title.

Cruiserweight had a long period, where no one cared about it, except our boi Alp, of course, a true fan of Terry McGroom and Julian Letterlough. Boone Pultz, Magne Havna, Markus Bott - anyone saw their fights here? So, not many people cared about these stats.

That was true.
