Are there any fighters you know of who have been gifted a decision and actually said it how it is or do they all roll out the usual "done enough to win / not my best performance".

i think Richie Woodhall said it once in one of his title fights,it could have been the Catley fight

Don’t know about post-match, but in his Boxing Life Stories is the most pragmatic and honest I’ve heard.

He did.

ohara davies initially said he didnt deserve the win over miguel vasquez, even shook his head when his hand was raised.....which made me think a lot more positively about him. but he eventually went back on that and now claims he won clearly

kinda random, but in terms of being honest about the shape he's in, fury made me lol when at he came in heavy for the mcdermott rematch and said right there on the scales 'well look who the mcmuffin is now''

Woodhall did and won a lot of admirers

Woodhall Vs Catley is the only one I can think of. Woodhall came straight out the ring and in the interview said he thought he didn't win it and Catley was the better fighter on the night.

Woodhall changed his mind once he got home and watched the tape of the fight. I remember Lupe Pintor's reaction when he got a 15-round decision over Carlos Zarate in Las Vegas in 1980. Pintor, who took Zarate's WBC bantamweight title, looked embarrassed at the decision.

Ritchie was totally honest about his performance in the post fight interview after the Catley fight.

Ritchie was totally honest about his performance in the post fight interview after the Catley fight.

I’m sure that Woodall was in tears following the final bell leading up to the decision, as he thought he would lose the decision.

Richie's fight with Glen and the post-fight interview is on YT. He is open about the fact he should not have got the decision. Makes him sound like the pragmatic, hard but fair man he is. Unlike the delusional Taylor who I liked until he spoke post-fight last night..

Katie Taylor eventually caved and offered Persoon a rematch, after saying everyone thougt I lost that fight- they were, and she did.
It was a backhanded admission.

Taylor needs to move up, he can win something at 147 and then offer the rematch

But not at 140.

NOT O'Hara Davies....he almost went up very highly in my estimation after clearly losing his fight with Miguel Vasquez and indicating he hadn't won when the decision was announced, but then being the prick he is...soon undid his good work, when he had a think about things and decided honesty wasn't the best policy
