Plumbed new depths on Friday getting knocked out by Danny Dyer then chatting up Shirley.

I saw that. I was visiting my mum and as a consequence had to sit through Eastenders (honest.) That ring was hilariously small so he can blame that I guess. BBC cutbacks!

I think he. stopped taking PED`s after the Butlin fight. Only win since was a DQ

Upon stopping the PED`s his muscles turned to lard and he was whipped from pillar to post. Used to write on here. Seemed like a nice enough fella.

Larry was a decent bloke, almost certainly still is. I've not had any chat with him since he left here but had a bit of back and forth with him when he did. We had a few PMs, he was asking my advice on foods and diet, we actually spend a bit of time discussing beetroots and borsch (ironic given his nickname and what is happening at the moment). I knew from the bodybuilding forums he was a user before he got caught out, the guy would try almost anything to get an edge, I'm no psychologist but it seemed like a mental failing when you actually talked to him. Didn't know he'd gone into acting. Hope he's doing okay.

He used to post on here and was quite a nice guy to interact with. Seemed like a bit of a prospect then he got hit and it all went downhill pretty quickly.

Wasn't it Big John McDermott who found him out?

Yes, tbf Larry was way out of his depth with John. He was only ever a novice just bullish and juiced up. He was always going to get chinned when he fought a decent boxer.

Forgot about that fight, saw it on my first trip to the York Hall. A quick dismantling.

Frankie G headlined and I was convinced of superstardom :yay:

Wasn't it something like 13 different peds he got caught taking?

He also spoke to the board and went over the details of what he took and how, so I think the board allowed him to come back rather than banning him completely

Was on here, seemed like a decent guy, did what he did and got banned.

He had done some time for armed robbery, after getting caught for the PEDs he had his ban cut after grassing up some others.

No they don't. They shrink when you stop taking PEDs. Larry went from a muscle bound man mountain to a tub of dripping

That’s right he grassed on Craig Windsor junior who was banned and Larry had his license reinstated

Trying to square Shirley was the final straw for me.

He was considered a good heavyweight prospect at one point. I remember fancying McDermott bigtime to beat him. I think he got a draw or loss to a journeyman on the way up. Always came across as a nice guy and anyone judging him for taking PEDs should just realize that it is rampant in the sport. You have to take them to be competitive and it's that simple. I would say fair play to Larry and wish him all the best.

Not having a go but can you document the rampant use of PEDs?
Just a few on here saying everyone is on it, so you must have proof, name names etc

The only name that Larry had was passed to the relevant authorities!

I won money on Big John beating Larry and Skelton 2.
As for "they're all on it".... I think Larry took it to new levels.

I spoke to Larry a week before eastenders aired. He's a recently new father and is starting to thrive in the acting world. Doing very well from what I've heard.

Many have been caught although there is always an excuse. The testing protocols are poor. It's endemic in the sport as far as I'm concerned. I'm using common sense here. Fair play to Larry for not putting himself at a disadvantage would be my opinion. You're putting your life on the line against opponents on gear so you have to be on gear yourself, simple as.

In the old days you just built up stamina through training and exercise

Most of the muscle men fail through stamina issues

Larry gassed to journeyman Daniel Peret early on in his career, the solution wasnt to be found in building up muscles.
