Stephen Espinoza: Demetrius Andrade ducked Jermall Charlo during late 2019

by Enlightened-One
Within the last 24 hours, Stephen Espinoza announced that Showtime offered Demetrius Andrade the Jermall Charlo world middleweight title unification bout during late 2019, but Boo Boo rejected that opportunity:

Therefore, Demetrius Andrade has rejected guaranteed opportunities to face top-ten world-rated fighters, such as: Jermell Charlo, Jermall Charlo, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Matt Korobov, Zhanibek Alimkhanuly and also the winner of the Erislandy Lara vs. Jarrett Hurd title unification.

Thoughts?

Well today, Demetrius Andrade maintains that he’s being avoided by everyone, so it’s relevant to the current scene, since his own actions speak volumes.

Andrade recently compared his “plight” to GGG.

And Espinoza’s disclosure of the Andrade-Charlo situation only happened within the last 24 hours, which has triggered a flurry of YouTube videos discussing the matter.

But it was admittedly fun to read your little rant! It’s good to know that this topic makes you feel so emotional. :OhYes:

A couple of thoughts for me….

I don’t really trust Espinoza. I’m not sure what it is but I find him to be a real slippery kind of guy. I’ll assume what he’s saying is true though.

I’m only going to criticise someone for turning down a fight if I have an idea of the deal. Was it a one fight deal or multi fight? Were there options if Andrade won? Was he low balled on the purse?

Andrade’s lawsuit against Roc Nation claimed that Demetrius was told to reject a three-fight deal with Showtime, which would have paid him $550K for the Jermell Charlo fight, where Boo Boo’s previous career-high purse being the $200K he was paid for the Brian Rose fight.

So Andrade has received two lucrative multi-fight deals with Showtime.

I’m not talking about the Jermell stuff - you’ve covered that already at length in several other threads.

I was referencing this supposed Jermall offer. I’m not going to criticise Andrade for it as I don’t believe a great deal of what Espinoza says and I have no idea of the purse/terms offered.

It’s about credibility.

Andrade claimed he rejected the first Showtime deal due to being low-balled, but then subsequently admitted in a lawsuit about lying.

In fact his team conceded they were offered a massive purse.

Stephen Espinoza rarely speaks, but when he does, no one accuses him of being a liar.

Like I said, you’ve gone over the older Andrade/PBC plenty on here.

Re: the Jermall stuff there’s not enough information available to form any kind of opinion as it’s just one person saying they made an offer with, unless I’m missing something, zero content regarding that offer.

Let's beat the dead horse some more. Late 2019? Early 2020 Mall turned down a $7 mil offer to fight Andrade. Believe what you want. Btw, I demand to see the "facial proof" of the alleged duck.

Jermall didn’t reject a $7m deal to face Andrde, since Eddie Hearn flatly-refused to corroborate Demetrius’ claims.

100 people could spend an entire year researching reliable sources endorsing Boo Boo’s claims, but they definitely couldn’t find any proof.

Believe me, lots of people have attempted to prove me wrong, even Ruthless, but every single one of them failed.

My point is, you take Espinoza's words as facts, but not Hearn's, because it doesn't fit into your narrative. Everyone else seems to understand except you. I'm sure they have medication for whatever you have.

Demetrius Andrade claims Jermall Charlo rejected a $7m offer from Matchroom for a fight.

Eddie Hearn refused to corroborate Boo Boo’s claims about the monetary amount.

Demetrius Andrade (via his own legal paperwork) has previously admitted to lying about purses to the media (when Boo Boo falsely claimed he was low-balled for the Jermell Charlo fight).

So I don’t trust anything that comes from Demetrius Andrade’s mouth.

Eddie Hearn recently claimed he was trying to make a fight between Demetrius Andrade and David Benavidez, but Matchroom didn’t even try to contact Benavidez’s handlers.

This means that Eddie Hearn lies also.

Whilst I strongly suspect that Stephen Espinoza isn’t always 100% truthful, I haven’t found any examples of him being dishonest.

We also know that Team Andrade has previously admitted (via their own lawsuit against Roc Nation) to have rejected a multi-fight deal with Stephen Espinoza’s Showtime.

So we know for certain that Stephen Espinoza has tried to work with Demetrius Andrade on multiple occasions, and Boo Boo has rejected every single offer made by Showtime.

That last sentence isn't hearsay, because this claim is based on the content of Demetrius Andrade's very own legal documentation he included in the lawsuit he filed against Roc Nation.

Surely you’re intelligent enough to understand the implications of me repeatedly citing Demetrius Andrade’s own legal documentation?

Out of interest, when did Eddie Hearn say he was trying to make a fight between Demetrius Andrade and David Benavidez?

Benevidez, his father, along with Demitris, Hearn, etc have all said that is the fight they want next. Of course, B and D have to win their next fights.

Win or lose for either guy, it would be great for our sport!

In the meantime, negative nancys like eo will keep chirping about ducks...which is bad for our sport.

Eunuch-One is such a slimy weasel who likes to set baits and traps to satisfy his ocd pleasure. I can envision EO in the real life being a shy nerd with shaking hands and seborrheic acne. :OhYes:

Don't you just love modern boxing?

Nobody fights anybody, just constant stories of "So and so ducked so and so according to so and so"

No wonder this sport is in the toilet. Sounds like a bunch of Mean Girls in a High School trying to make the other one anorexic.
