Good comeback win for GGG! G's hands and head seem to be made of heavy cast-iron!

Indeed the ring rust and the age were there but G hammered Murata's head pretty hard. I hope both fighters are ok.
G's hands seem to be very heavy. You can see that G has sledgehammers instead of hands when he connects.
Also its interesting to see how smart and savvy G is inside the ring. When G needs to take a breather, he somehow looks like a hurted animal going backwards but then he's also ready to counterpunch his opponent. G likes to set baits and traps.
Charlito and Andrada would've ended up like Murata too vs GGG.
If G will get Canelo, I hope G will get a big payday bc I think Canelo would stop G this time. Canelo is at his peak at 31 , and G is 40. Big gap in age.

Some of these posts about GGG are just ridiculous. Completely forgotten is how he handled Canelo (who is great no doubt). Canelo has a lot of balls but none of his camp wanted to face GGG again. Murata fought his heart out. Olympic Gold Medalist. Biggest fight of his life at home. He should be praised.

Praise for fighting a 40-year-old that everybody says is way past his best??

There is a reason why Canelo avoided GGG in his prime, and waited 4 years to want to fight him again.

true.
Canelo knew that G gave him hell, so he waited G to get even older, 40.

In 2016 Canelo gave up his mw wbc title to avoid facing GGG, and he fought Liam Smith and a washed up JCCJr.
In 2015 GGG as the mandatory challenger stepped aside and let Cotto to fight Canelo, then Canelo defended his mw wbc title vs a chiny-bloated up A.K.lol

Steve Rolls, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Kamil Szeremeta and Ryota Murata.
By Cinco de Mayo, Canelo would have beaten the following opponents within the last 4½ years (since the 2017 bout against Golovkin):
- Rocky Fielding
Daniel Jacobs
Sergey Kovalev
Callum Smith
Avni Yildirim
Billy Joe Saunders
Caleb Plant
Dmitry Bivol
Golovkin has only fought the following opponents within the equivalent timeframe:
- Steve Rolls
Sergiy Derevyanchenko
Kamil Szeremeta
Ryota Murata
Are you telling me that GGG couldn’t have fought the likes of Munguia, Charlo or Andrade during that timeframe to keep himself busy?

GGG was already past his best when he beat Canelo twice. That trumps any opponent comparisons.

Not only just my opinion, but thought he won the first clear and the second close.
Lara also deserved the win over Canelo.
Floyd only got a majority decision, and it was an 11-1 or 10-2 fight. Canelo always has had at least one judge in his pocket. Unless you're new to boxing, you know that.

True. At that time G was 35 and Canelo 27.
Canelo fought in 2016 glass-chined ww Khan, then dumped his wbc mw title to not face GGG, and he fought Liam Smith and JCCJr.

The great of the greats; Rocky Fielding
Avni Yıldırım; the devastator
Caleb Plant; the mostly proven one
Sergey Kovalev; the not-washed up
Besides Bivol(finally); only Callum Smith, Saunders and Jacobs are relevant. This is for Canelo
prime.
GGG, being
past his prime, chose to be busy this way. Simple as that. (I'd prefer the other way though.)
This doesn't change the main point:
Canelo with Mexican Beef, lost to GGG twice unofficially, and waited for "40" for the trilogy.

I'll echo what most here have said. For a 40 year old, GGG looked great. He's still a top man, despite clearly not being the fighter he used to be. Age catches up to us all. At this point, I hope for another 2-3 fights and then a healthy retirement for him. I'd rather not see him fight Canelo again, but that's just me.

How was their first fight not a robbery?
I scored the rematch a draw and agree it was too close to be a robbery. The first fight was fishy as hell - from the judge who had it 10-2 to Canelo, and the judge who had it a draw gave Canelo the 7th, which is arguably GGG's most dominant round. I had the first fight 116-112 to GGG and could see 115-113 or 117-111.

So are you seriously suggesting that, in terms of calibre of opposition that Canelo and Golovkin have faced since their most recent outing 3½ years ago, you genuinely believe that GGG has fought better opposition?
Your comments about Canelo’s foes are very harsh in nature but you’ve refrained from discussing the guys that Golovkin has fought.
So I have to assume you cannot find any reason to criticise the likes of Rolls, Derevyanchenko, Szeremeta and Murata, since you’ve refused to discuss them.

I'm a GGG fanboy in the overall scheme of things and 6-6 was as wide as I could stretch it- I mean I got to the end of that fight thinking a draw wouldn't be totally shocking scoring, but like you say all benefit of doubt/ etc

I can see that. I had 2 rounds as clear Canelo (2 and 12), 6 rounds clear to GGG (4 thru 9) and 4 swing rounds that could reasonably go either way (1, 3, 10 and 11).

The one thing I haven’t worked out yet, relates to the response that is always cited to anyone that expresses a personal opinion about GGG that isn’t 100% flattering.
For instance:
• Person A: Gennadiy Golovkin’s performance during the first four rounds of the Ryota Murata fight was quite poor.
• Person B: So what!?! GGG is 40 years old and the judges robbed him of victory in both Canelo fights!!!
• Person A: Gennadiy Golovkin will probably lose the Canelo fight in September.
• Person B: So what!?! GGG is 40 years old and the judges robbed him of victory in both Canelo fights!!!
• Person A: GGG has been very inactive during the 3½ years since his 2018 bout against Canelo.
• Person B: So what!?! GGG is 40 years old and the judges robbed him of victory in both Canelo fights!!!
• Person A: I’ve got an itchy backside and I might break wind soon.
• Person B: So what!?! GGG is 40 years old and the judges robbed him of victory in both Canelo fights!!!
