I like watching Mckinson fight, and for the most part it's pretty low action, I just like the chess match.

I don't think it's possible to actually dislike a true high action fight completely, but high volume arm punchers are my least favourite high action fighters. Kownaki, big bay Miller, 3/4s of women's fights.

I know your asking for specific fights but I don't think I have the power of recall to dig any specifics out of my memory bank.

Fury against Klit was a fun low-action fight, because it was a long-awaited scenario. Mayweather's later fights were decent too, because they were textbook schoolings, low action, but clean and sublime one. The same can be said about the recent Stevenson-Valdez bout, a one-sided masterclass without much action, but kinda beautiful.

Gotta agree about Kownacki's and Miller's fights being boring despite their high-action nature. When there's a lot of pillow-fisted brawling, all intensity fades. Also, I don't like the Ricky Hatton type of fights, when there's a lot of action, but it's filled with husting and pushing instead of boxing.

I remember Guerrero beat Kamegai on points over 12 and it was toe to toe for 12 rounds, action galore but it was repetitive and I got bored pretty by the halfway point

Low action in the Shak fight on Saturday but I throughly enjoyed it.
Usyk/Joshua was relative low action but I loved watching the skills.
But you cannot beat a Fury/Wilder or Gomez/Arthur absolute slug fest.

Nigel Benn vs Henry Wharton was a low action fight I enjoyed, you knew both could win at any point but it went through to points after a good boxing show by Benn.

Don't know why but I rarely enjoyed high action Johnny Tapia fights

ya, there are high action fights where none of the punches really do much damage, and hence none are really all that significant. same thing over and over, no drama, really.

That’s exactly the fight that sprang to my mind too, am sure we were all saying it on the RBR thread.

I really enjoyed the Guerrero v Kamegai fight the whole way through. Kamegai was insanely brave and Guerrero really dished it out.




Would De Lay Hoya v Quartey straddle both ideas ?

Tense dullness, mixed with extreme violence

Haye v Wlad and Valuev were both low action but I found both extremely interesting.

wilders considered a very exciting fighter but a lot of his fights were actually fairly low action. he'd spend most of a fight paw pawing with the left, ocassionally the big right

fury-wilder 1 for example....we remember the big moments, but about 9 of the rounds hardly anything happened


for low action, i guess there has to be that feeling that something could change........creates tension

Rigo vs Donaire? It was mad to watch donaire get nullified but also seemed kinda dull? Haven’t watched that fight back, I’m gonna see if it looks like I remember it later.

Watched highlights a few years back.

Donaire had nothing for Rigo.

that one got a bit more lively late on.......donaire scoring a kd in the 10th, then in the 12th rigo beak the brakes off him and f@cked his eye

i recall watching that one live and rbrs all had it wide for rigo, but a little group of american media that was all sitting together thought it was like a 1 point fight. no way it was that close
