Some of the best fights are on these shows but unfortunately not many people get to see them.

I can remember one of the most enjoyable and exhausting fights I have ever seen was at a Koncrete Promotions show in the Metrodome, Barnsley, between Robert Burton and David Kier.

On paper it didn't look a great fight but WOW, I remember leaving the hall feeling absolutley fcuked just from watching it.

Has anyone else seen fights like this on these small, untelevised shows?

Classic bouts like the one you mention are often a feature of the small hall show.

Leigh Allis v Valery Odin on Chris Sanigar's show in 2004 might have been the best fight I saw all year.

I wish we still had nobbins, those two deserved a bonus.

You beat me to it Kev, what a show that was. The atmosphere was like a cauldron in there, I thought the crowd were going to rush the ring they were getting so pumped up. That was a fornicating mental night's boxing, I'd like to see those two have a rematch.

I think the Maloney's put on some cracking shows, it would be great if someone like Bravo picked them up, because those are the fights which get non-fans interested.

Odin is never in a dull fight, he had a classic York Hall tear up with Chardon Ansula a couple of years ago.... it was a beauty

The best fight I saw last year was Chas Symonds versue Brett James and a great atmosphere! , Where is the spamming here?

You've made 1433 posts, Taylor (give or take one or two recently deleted). And I would ask everyone to check how many of those incorporate your sad little website.

You've obviously got more time on your hands than me as I am running a succesful website and haven't got the time to plough through the 1,000 odd posts I have made on this site as an editor of the site!

if you dont like kev's posts and deem them as spamming thats your call its your site, but lately you have far gone beyond this and you need to draw a line under it.

J, you have to remember that this is a site that gets viewed by alot of people who are all potential viewers of Kev's site. If he is repeatedly advertising and putting up links, I can see why the people who run this place might think it's a bit cheeky.

That doesn't mean I'm knocking him for doing it, I'd probably do the same if I were Kevin, but at some stage you have to accept you'll get stopped from doing it. Do you think Nike.com would put up with Reebok.com advertising for free on their site?

I don't think anyone has a problem understanding that it's considered improper for Kev to advertise his site for free. I don't post links to my articles at maxboxing for that very reason.

There's a difference between that though and just having a blanket ban on any posts, that doesn't seem reasonable.

It's not my argument really, and I'm not willing to get drawn into someone's personal squabbles.

I will say though that these actions reflect badly on the site as a whole, and it's part of the reason that I didn't like the old eastside forum, there appeared to be far too much politics and personal squabbles.

All the time. There was a cracker between two inexperienced lads just on Sunday at Sheffield. A draw was welcome. Both lads gave everything for 6x2. Great scrap.

Chado's man, Ali Nuumbembe, features on March 4th in a potentially great scrap against unbeaten welterweight Francis Jones.

It's terrible that the bill - headed by Michael Hunter - won't be televised. If you haven't seen Hunter you are missing a treat.

Chris was in a legendary small hall classic himself, back in the early 80's vs Sid Smith. Brit fight of the year, I think. I just recall reading about it in BN, and they called it one of the best ever seen.

I do take your point. I think the analogies you have offered are rather strained though. Firstly, nike and reebok - as presumably the pub owners - are in direct competition.

Although there is some overlap between this site and ours, I don't really see them in direct conflict. Indeed, Kevin acts as an editor for this site and updates the odd record. A mod asked a records question on here the other day and I had the answer and readily gave it.

Speaking for myself, Boxrec isn't a news site - other than the good info that gets passed on through the forum.

Plus, as alluded to earlier, there is a lot more to the situation than meets the eye.
