Just had a letter from Sky about the Setanta showing.

They said ON THIS OCCASION we will give you a 3.75 refund, but not again. Basically accused of lying to try and get a free PPV. It said that the event WAS shown on its proper time.

It then gives me the basic info about how to order PPV's and to make sure I tune in on the time indicated.

It wasn't a nice letter, especially as it was wrong. We were promised "Not to miss a minute of the Junior Witter fight" - and we did.

Cancel your subscription. You soon learn to live without it. I got shut of it ages ago.

I'm getting on to Sky about it today. I'll let you know how it goes.

I packed up last week and I don't see myself regretting it. They're a bunch of tossers.

I missed Super League and Footy for a bit and obviously Saturday Fight Night. I just started going to more live matches/shows and generally getting out more. UK History and BBC4, on freeview, have decent documentaries and you get the news channels on that too. I'm glad I binned it (SKY).

If there's ever a fight I really want to see I buy it on a DVD compilation from a dealer.

It's the non-boxing stuff I would miss. Simpsons, Discovery, National Geographic, Rodeo Wrecks.

Mind you, only so many shows with the title.

"Legends of the Nazi Mummy crocodile-monkey's of the nile."

Or "When sharks/dolphins/jellyfish/presenters/good times turn bad."

I've been thinking about cancelling it but really worried I might miss Skelton v Moli so holding off.

Can you imagine opening a large brown envelope to find a clod of poo inside? It must be unimaginably disgusting. Think of the mirth of bystanders! Anyone know anyone who has sent or has had sent to them a chunk of dung in the post?

A guy I worked with sent a box full of maggots to an estate agents who screwed him over. Was none to pleasant apparently.

I think Sky's argument is that the Witter fight was an Extra.. not part of the main PPV which did start at 2pm as it should've.

Always going to have Sky for the football and golf and american football and the NBA and just about every sport they put on.. and a number of programs on Sky One

Stujones, what was the problem, did you tune in at 1am and the Witter fight had already gone some rounds?

What did you do to get the refund? did you ring them or write a letter?

I personally was f*cked off to find that the Witter fight had started. Much appreciated

I had the same problem, went down to get a cup of tea, and came back to find it was on round 4.

fornicate sky, i cancelled in November....
with the internet and file sharing you can get most fights within a few days anyway.... for free...... rather than supporting the premiership football and putting petrol in warrens bentley

They tried the same with me, but I am made of stone and still sodded them off.

I've had Sky for between 18 & 24 months. Sky World - all the sports & movie channels for £41.

When they asked why i just said i didn't think it was good value for money as i don't really spend that much time watching tv.

I wasn't fishing for it at all. Completely their suggestion.

But once the 3 months is up that's it!

I understand where you are coming from, but why would you want to cancel your SKY subscription simply because the boxing coverage isn't up to scratch?

Let's remember, first of all, boxing is a minority sport, it's not one of the big sports in this country. Popular, but not huge.

Also, wouldn't it be worth keeping just for the main TV programmes? There is always something on, and if you allready have it, then it beats having only five channels to watch.

There is always something on, yes; but more often than not it's shit. I didn't fully appreciate that 'till I'd binned SKY, but when I did, I realised I'd been wasting alot of my time watching pure dross.

The four main terrestrial Channels, well excluding ITV are still the best. BBC1 and BBC2 and Channel 4, especially the last two, are excellent.
