Will he still be considered P4P #1?

Unless Bivol wins all 12 rounds and drops him he ain't getting a decision.
And he won't do that.

To beat Canelo by decision you would need to knock him down every round. And then it would be a close split decision

Bivol is *never* taking this win on the cards.

Bivol isnt beating canelo. Canelo is better at everything

A few people think Lara beat him.
So why not Bivol?

bivy is a better mover.....he could cause canelo some frustration with that. i think he better than caleb plant and could take some rounds + will last the distance, but dont see him scoring enough to win.
saunders and plant are stylistically good opponents for canelo to have fought prior to bivol. at this point, canelo is so experienced vs a range of styles and abilities

I agree he has improved a lot.
But there is a path to beating him.
And it would have to be a full 12 rounds of switched on boxing to do it.
In boxing anything is possible, Canelo is fallible and given the high level he has fought at, someone is going to find a way. I don't know if it will be Bivol, but I do think he has the best chance since Lara.

He can move but canelo hasnt had trouble with that in years. Agree on plant and saunders

It's pretty sad when the entire boxing world, including most casual fans realize the corruption when it comes to scorecards in Canelo fights. It's not even debatable.
If Bivol beats Canelo by decision, holy crap, he's the GOAT. Floyd, GGG, Lara, all beat him if there were fair judges. Floyd's was the most corrupt, even though he won. It's costing someone a lot of money, and some judges are rich because of it.

Funnily enough I agree with you both. I believe Bivols weakness is his inside ability. He’s an outside fighter. Excellent jab and straight right. That’s it, in my opinion. I feel his hooks aren’t particular strong and he relies on foot movement rather than head movement so if he’s cornered, he’ll get hit. He’s similar to Kovalev but he’s an accumulation puncher who has stamina. I believe he’ll be a tougher test for Canelo than Kovalev but Canelo is far too experienced and skilled. I believe Bivol could win perhaps 4 rounds but inflict minimal damage in those rounds. Again, this is just a prediction. It’s an exciting match up and I’m hoping for a competitive bout. I also see Bivol lasting the distance.

prob more trouble with that than any other type of fighter though, kov moved and was pretty much even, plant and saunders won some rounds. callum smith won 0. canelo does need to be set to punch generally, but unlike a lot of guys who are like that, his timing is superb and he's quick handed, so he can score big just picking spots here and there
my guess is canelo wins something like 8-4/9-3

Floyd won a Majority Decision after blanking him 12 rounds to 0. So you need to at the very least shut him out. Golovkin's 9 rounds to 3 wasn't enough.

Canelo is at the next level atm and he is in his prime too. People that comparing this version of Canelo with version of Canelo from the Lara, FMJ and GGG fights are making a mistake.

ya, he'd beat a prime ali now. obviously the likes of usyk, aj, fury are no match too. he'd just have too much eye catching canelo-ness for godzilla, mothra, and kong too

Bivol is one dimensional in and out fighter but he's very good at what he is doing. Canelo said he'll need to start strong in the first rounds of the fight bc Bivol has a good stamina for 12 rds.
I think Canelo would probably try to close the gap inflicting some damage to Bivol like he did vs Callum Smith. Canelo would hit Bivol's arms and middle section with hooks and straight right hands and use his uppercut to the chin.
I think Bivol's armour would collapse under the Canelo's punches. I don't think Bivol is the kind of fighter that can take for 12 rds Canelo's hard punches.

- Generally Monkeys don't understand boxing and so naturally turn into Howler Monkeys when losing their lunch money on a fight.
The book is closed on Money May and his non Olympic, 2 week back dated drug testing TUEs, and the Lady in Lara leaves a trail of Stink every time she gets the runs. Now the Great Kazak Emasculator GGG has been noticeably emasculated after Canelo whooped him a new one.
Bivol is 31, same age as Canelo, undefeated, and still consensus #2 LH in the World handicapped by being a "dirty Russian" in Monkey World in spite of no wrong doing by him, and so here be you Monkeys still howling in collective emasculation?
When the Academy Award Comedy of the Year hitting silver screens for more howls?

Seems right. Bivol is good enough to win rounds and not get knocked out.
Beterbiev can beat canelo but hes old as hell now.
Briedis would beat him

A unanimous decision coming up.
We all know it.
Bivol is simply not good enough to clearly win all 12 rounds against Canelo and he's not knocking him out either.
If Bivol actually had any real chance he wouldn't be fighting tonight
This is an excellent matchup for the 5ft 8 beefy one.
After getting yet another dodgy decision against GGG later this year Saul should gift us all one and fight Usyk.
Now that would be interesting to see.
A bloodied and battered Canelo getting his arm raised after a 12 round bludgeoning.
A split decision obviously, and Adalaide Byrde returning for the last time.
