I just watched the UFC highlights from last night, one guy was clean knocked out, the winner celebrated in a wild manner which included doing 3 x standing flips. I didn’t see anyone telling him not to celebrate. In boxing, is it a bit too politically correct in advising fighters not to celebrate, in most cases the guys on the end of a brutal ko do come round and everything’s ok.
Not leaning either way on this, just an observation ….

I saw that too and also immediately thought of how a boxer and his team would react.
I prefer the boxing way of muted celebrations until you know the other lad is OK.

I think the way ufc is marketed they push the beef angle because it drives sales. Whether it’s fake or not I think it’s natural to have the Adrenalin dump and people do weird stuff.
That said hammer fists need to go. The fighter should know the other one is out. No need to try breaking their jaw while they don’t even have their eyes open.
I remember thaxton laying out Ryan and he went like he’d been shot from row z. Brendan grabbed him and just said relax, breathe and wait for him to come round.

I thought it was OTT from Chandler but then again he is a bit of a wank so it’s not out of character.
He showed zero concern for Tony, possible because he was getting caught and was ecstatic he got a shock KO.

Watched it live and it was some knockout indeed.
Still find it a little thoughtless to do x4 somersaults when you’re man is out completely on the canvas surrounded by 4 doctors.
He was out for like a minute; Chandler didn’t give a fornicate.
Bad taste. But adrenaline in that situation must be insane.

to me, it's classless celebrating like that. we should remember that boxing is meant to be a 'gentlemens' sport.
I remember when Enzo Mac took a knee after KO'ing RJJ and thinking what a class act. That's how it should be done in my book.

The immediate example that came to my mind when I read the topic title.
What a gigantic gaping ars*hole that entitled little prick is.
I was neutral about him prior to that performance, now I would PPV to see someone smash him

The commentator says " And he is just bringing his celebrations to a halt out of respect..."
Bullsh*t he was. They just panned away from the little turdgobbler

That's why Mckinson is such a class lad. Never seen him carrying on celebrating while his opponent is concussed on the canvas.

To be fair, a lot of the UFC guys, mostly the BJJ guys, will sit or stand around and wait until their opponent is up before celebrating. Depends on the athlete themselves in both sports.
He’s a dick. Tbh I’ve never seen someone so unaware of their opponents fate. The crowd didn’t seem to be cheering him either they were in shock. I love seeing Chandler get smashed and it’s going to happen again soon enough.

Nobody cares about you doing a front flip either. The crowd isn't clamouring to see a fighter do a front flip.
