are there any fights that were considered 'great" when they actually occured but may have been forgotten
over the years due to people not talking about them ( for whatever reason).

what about Tommy Burns vrs Arthur Pelkey ?(1913 Calgary Alberta Canada)
I seem to remember reading that it was almost like an early Foreman vrs Lyle
each one had another on the canvas
or was it just an exhibition ?
( Burns also happened to be Pelkey's promoter at the time)

In the last domestic British golden era of audley/Williams/sprott/Skelton etc several bangers have failed to make YouTube.....
Matt Skelton and big Bob Mirovic throwing anvils at each other. Skelton almost stays on his stool between rounds 3 to 4 !
The Prizefighter final at York hall between Skelton and sprott hasn't been uploaded. They war in the last round. In fact a lot of the Prizefighter series is absent.
Going further back, the live fight between heavies Trevor Currie v Proud Kilimanjaro is absent.
Currie coasts against the farcically slow kili before getting tagged in the last round and barely survives a wobbly three minute attack.

Lamon Brewster vs Sergei Liakhovich (The fight where Lamon tore his retina which led to him losing the sight in his eye, he told me)

I always thought Balbi won the first fight vs Dorin (definitely not the rematch) but the promoters were building Dorin up as a hot property at the time, leading to the Spadafora and Gatti fights, and he got the decision. Balbi was just an unknown Argentine belt holder at the time but people forget Dorin had a lot of buzz about him then.
Keeping with the Argentine theme, both Sacco v Hatcher fights for the junior WW belt (1984-1985) were really good. Way behind on points, Hatcher had KO’d Johnny “Bump City” Bumphus for an alphabet belt and I seem to remember Sacco was his mandatory. Hatcher was a limited puncher who constantly came forward, Sacco more the boxer. Sacco won the first fight but they gave the decision to the local home town fighter Hatcher (in Texas … shocking as that might seem) on a SD I think. Sacco punched the shyte out of Hatcher in the second fight and they had to stop it

I knew a guy who had fought Gene Hatcher. When he found out I was a Boxing fan, he was eager to tell me all about it. He seemed ecstatic when I looked up his record on Boxrec and confirmed the truth of his claim. I guess a lot of people either aren't interested or blow it off when he says it, but it was there. He got like a kid in a candy store when I told him his record was posted, and wanted to know the name of the site so he could see it

Fella's name was Sergio Valles.
That's awesome. Hatcher wasn't particularly skilled, and wasn't a huge puncher, but he worked hard and was always in a good fight when he fought at 140
