When will Kid Dynamite return? Walker is a domestic legend who always gives value for money, when is he fighting next? I think he is well capable of obtaining a British Title.

I think he was well and truely buggered by that Europeon title shot!... I like Henessey but Walker was very badly handled I feel.

I agree Walker was out of his depth but do you think he would've ever got a chance like that again?

He could well have in my opinion. Walker had a lot going for him, great heart, good punch and better skills than he always showed but he needed a lot more development and maturing, why was everything such a rush with him?. I'm not even convinced he should have been fighting at Light-middle... should have stayed at Welter I think.

he's great to watch but realistically is a step below british titlist level.

But he didnt belong in the ring with Karmazin.

Just because the fight CAN be made does not mean it SHOULD be made.

I think he got an OK payday for it though, which was the idea I think.

I don't think Walker should be fighting at LM, he doesn't have the power or strength at the weight, Karmazin looked bloody huge next to walker.

They should have waited and tried to guide him to a British title but instead he was rushed and it looks like his career is blown. I just hope he got well paid against Roman.

I saw it (the EBU title shot) as an opportunity not be missed on Walker's part. It worked for Spencer Oliver, although clearly the guy Spencer beat was way below Karmazin's class. I was certain David would get beat, but still went and supported him anyway. Rob McCracken had that towell in his hand ready to thow it in the moment Walker was about to get hurt.

I don't think it did ruin him, but judging from his last outing (I was there for that too) he does need to rediscover his form.

But to answer the original question , yes, I miss Walker and hope to witness another "edge of the seat" thriller soon.

But thats just it he won't rediscover his form I think. Aside from the physical toll of being in so many hard fights Walker would have suffered a big emotional blow from that fight with Roman... he was totally outclassed and it will take a lot for him to come even halfway back from that.

Excitement is one thing, but the guy has never been top ten in the UK in my opinion anyway.

I'm sure there are plenty of exciting fighters who, because they haven't had the television exposure of Walker, will not get discussed nearly as much.

Why indeed? Is it because he's not as exciting as David Walker, period?

Personally I don't enjoy watching Barrett box that much at all. He looks to clinch far too often and spoils the entertainment.

Walker's earned his reputation with or without TV. Going back to when he was an unknown amateur I always got that buzz of excitment before he was about to box.

Barrett was just an example I have seen some good contest in, I'm sure there are better examples who I have never seen so couldn't guess.

It was the Spencer Fearon fight that got the buzz about Walker - the battering he took by Vincent didn't enhance his reputation because of the L. It was the fight of the year with Fearon that got him discussed on the boards and he got the label "Most exciting fighter".

He has had one or two off TV fights since Karmazin, have they ever been mentioned, No. Why? either because they weren't as exciting or because it wasn't on the TV.

Again, with or without TV Walker's fight with Paul Dyer WOULD be being discussed. Maybe not as much though, granted. I don't dispute the power of TV.

Walker had little TV exposure as amateur but was a name on many boxing fans lips. Why? Because more often than not the fights he was inlvolved with left a lasting impression.

Butch, I'm not trying to be sarcy or arrogant, but when did Walker fight Dyer - without checking on the boxrec database (not the forums) I wouldn't know the fight took place.

Walker did what a lot of fighters do. When he lost to Vincent he blamed the weight and moved up when he didnt really need to, he can still make Welter I am sure of that and should be fighting there.

No sure where you're coming from with that question stujones, but off the top of my head (and also without looking it up...honest) I'd say 2003 !

As I said it was a geniune question, I didn't even know that had fought so I certainly didn't see the discussion, perhaps there was, but I didn't see it.
