So Heavyweights, take Fury, Usyk and Joshua out of the fold as I can’t see any of them being round much longer, how do we see the future heavyweight division being like the 80s where a new champion was crowned every year or so or do we have a dominant champion like Lewis or Wlad for example?

Aren’t they all around or older than 30?

Jalolov is 28 I think

Who will pay to watch any of them on PPV? People from their own region aren't dumb enough to buy PPV and those in the West don't know these guys.

Who will pay to watch any of them on PPV? People from their own region aren't dumb enough to buy PPV and those in the West don't know these guys.

I belive Dychko and Jalalov fight out of the States now. Casuals don't know these guys yet, but a boxer is only ever a few fights away from becoming a big name. That area of the world is certainly where the talent is IMO.

With a lack of real talent on the fringe, I see Big Mak and Jared Anderson emerging over the next year or two. Dychko is done. Jalalov has a chance. We'll see if anyone is out there lurking in the shadows.

I get what your saying, but the right promoter and marketing team could change that imo. I mean Wlad was hardly the most exciting guy outside the ring. Usyk has only been mainstream for a few years, but his mad persona helps a lot.

Fury is still 3 years younger than Dave Allen!
Dubois is the only genuine youngster out there

Justis Huni, the Australian heavy is worth looking out for.
Was a world junior champ, didn't lose much in the ams, gone pro young, let's see if he can push on.

He's on my watch list, but his last two fights weren't that impressive considering the opponents.

Yeah a 40 yr old Paul Gallen should have been easy pickings.

I agree about Dycho, he lost to AJ 10 years ago in the ams. Since then AJ has improved, earned millions, peaked and probably slid, while Dycho is still taking on the usual suspects when you start out in the pros.
While its early, at the moment I'd pick Jalalov.

well obviously ben whittaker is gonna take over after running through some of the divisions below. i'll be watching him live and exclusive on skysports boxxxer ppv

jalolov looked reaally good vs soko, power, mobility, and with more varied output then he usually uses in amateur fights. excited to see him step up. 28 is still fairly young for the division

jah anderson's a stud too, and really really young. huni a youngster looking good as well.

Big time heavyweight boxing is about two countries (USA and UK). For a while when ZDF were involved Germany was there too and the Klitschkos were the chief beneficiaries of that. That ship has sailed. ZDF aren't interested anymore and Germans don't buy PPV.

I'm nowhere near convinced that any of the Eastern Euros can be promoted to super-stardom. A Brit or Yank, hype job or real, will come along or be manufactured at some point.

I think so. All the leeches want paying big money. Heavyweight boxing is a popularity contest, it's not about who is actually the best fighter.

I've already explained why Wlad made it. He and Vitali were backed heavily by ZDF in Germany. Had they not been they'd just be two dudes a few hardcores had heard of. ZDF jacking on boxing has ruined things for the Euros. the Germans were discerning enough to accept them but only on terrestrial television, they won't buy PPV, it's not in their nature (i.e. they aren't idiots with money).

Usyk is obviously the man now in terms of ability but not marketability. Eddie and AJ dropped a bollock taking that fight. I don't believe a PPV show featuring Usyk as headliner would be a success (relative to e.g. Fury v Whyte) without a charismatic Brit/American opponent.

Richard Torres Jnr is only 22. They’ll take their time with him but potentially he’s huge
