Apparently Alejandra Ayala has come out of the induced coma after receiving brain surgery following her fight with Hannah Rankin.

Great news, and all the best for her continued recovery, but why so little media coverage?

OMG!

If this is correct, then it's a complete scandal that this fight could have gone ahead in 2022.

Damn….. weird channel but this guy’s done two more vids on this… highlighting why Ayala was allowed to fight. Did the board do any additional checks knowing she has a possible brain tumour in 2018? And they kept her fight Marshall with it…..it beggars belief

Alejandra Ayala speaks: Thank God for a new life

Ayala, 33, updated her social media for the first time, simply stating: “Thank God for a new life.” Several responses to the post gave a sigh of relief all around.

A very sad, though at the very least not tragic tale and indeed some questions should be asked of the boards and how/if they look into past medicals of all fighters that they sanction.

However, shouldn't at least some of the responsibility lay at the hands of the fighter and her team? She knew she had the issue previously, yet has made the decision to continue and risk her life. No one forces people to fight.

Of course, she decided to fight on and there was known medical history, so there really should have been red flags and concerns raised by the commissions anywhere where she has since been fighting and probably even denied a licence to fight.
