Today i've made the decision to announce my retirement from boxing after an amazing twenty one years training and fighting and living my dreams.
I could never have imagined my life without boxing however after a well needed break and plenty of time to reflect on my career, life, my son James and my partner Oonagh I have made a very tough decision to call it a day 💔
Having surpassed my expectations by achieving a lot more in boxing than what i could ever have imagined, starting as a young kid with a bad temper to fighting for world titles, packed arenas and winning 8 titles along my journey.
I started with a loyal team who included my manager and mentor Mark Dunlop and my coaches Tony Dunlop and Daniel Boyle and together we plotted and carried out some amazing victories in both the home and away corners and it is with great pride today we finish together.
A special mention must be given to Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Boxing, DAZN& Sky Sports who along with Mark and Paul McClean of A McCleans Bookmakers and Damian Auld of Auld Dental Laboratory & Ralph Mckay who helped guide my career and without them none of the above would have been possible.
My advice to any young person with ambition and drive would be, you will loose one hundred percent of the chances you don't take in life, get a good team around you and chase your dreams.
Thanks for the support i have received from everyone over the years forever grateful for having you all as part of my journey❤️

I saw him fight in the Ulster Hall once. He could really bang.

Fair play to him, he was always value for money. Broke through with a cracker of a performance against Martin J. Ward. I just don't think he had the chin to hold up using the style he was using. It was always going to be a firefight. I would have liked to have seen him have one last go. I was hoping that a fight between him and Rylan Charlton would be made.

All the best.

He’s not even 30.. but he said he achieved more than he though he would. Fair play.

4 losses all by stoppage.

He gets out when he can.

Hopefully he’s saved some money and invested.

He’s young. He can still do a lot of other things.

I can think of no higher praise to bestow on Tennyson's career than to say he was one hell of an exciting boxer :box:

He was on a decent run until the shock stoppage in his last fight. Always good to watch was Tenny. Picked up all the domestic titles and gave it a shot vs Farmer. Best of luck to him.

He was fun to watch, but took some hefty punishment and good for him and his well-being.

Really enjoyed watching him.

Absurd power but vulnerable at times.

Hope he got out with plenty of money.
