Didn't realise it wasn't the main event so it gets somewhat of a pass. They still could have got better on 2 weeks notice and by the time it comes around it would've been over a months notice since Parker pulled out.

I like Joyce, but his resume is lacking
He doesn't have time for crap fights at his age.
His biggest win is Dubois who has a weaker resume than even himself

If Dubois loses to the Hunter/Hughie winner then Joyce's resume crumbles with it.

This isnt horrible considering its short notice. But it is pretty bad.

Hammer hasnt been proper stopped in 12 years.... and only the one time. So i guess thats the only interesting thing. Could be a horror beating If hammer dosent take a retirement early.

Joyce needs to fights someone before he's too old. What is he 36 now? Not one major fight that he won.

I'd rather boxers stay busy rather than not fight, but come on man. Hammer has lost 5 of his last 10 fights. Why not someone like Jared Anderson?

Joyce should have manned up after calling out grandpa Ortiz, but got spooked when Ortiz accepted the challenge.

I'd much rather see him vs the Russian Hammer.

anderson was scheduled to fight hammer on the fury-whyte card then pulled out, all these dudes loving them some hammer time, even lou ortiz wanted him some and got a bloody nose in the process

i wonder if , unlike ortiz, joyce will stop hammer

I believe, Joyce is a one of the best competitors, who can make a watchable fight against the spoiler Hammer. Joyce tends to come forward and his workrate is huge.

Just another name for Joyce to bulk up his record.

If Joyce keeps fighting low calibre guys, there is no way he will be prepared for a title shot.
He put away DDD, but didn't look great doing it. And at 36 he has to be past peak physically.

We know that Joe Joyce is planning to face Joseph Parker soon. And so it’s entirely reasonable for the 'Juggernaut' to engage in a low-risk ring-rust clearing bout.

In fact it's a sensible move given the state of the boxing business today.

Just imagine trying to explain to new fans how this business works.

And then try to explain how it could call itself a legitimste sport.

There is plenty wrong with stay busy fights for so called up and coming challengers.
It is boring for fans, it is a waste of time.
Spar guys like Hammer in the gym if you must stay busy, but don't waste tv air time with bullsh*t like this.
It does not prepare a fighter for a title bout, it probably does the opposite, and it does not win fans or appease the fans you have already.
Is anyone honestly looking forward to watching this fight?

pointless fight , wont matter if he ko hammer in 2 which i doubt like lennys says time aint on his side this wont promote his name , rather julius francis fight him

Really wish this wasnt done yet and gorman could of called him out after his fight today. Gorman vs joyce is a fun fight i think, i actualy quite rate gorman although i think joe would be too much. at least there would be somthing coming back at joyce.
