Dalton Smith will face Sam O’maison for the vacant British Super Lightweight Title at the Utilita Arena Sheffield on Saturday August 6, live worldwide on DAZN (excluding Australia and New Zealand).

Smith (11-0, 9 KOs), one of the hottest prospects in world boxing, claimed his first pro title at Manchester Arena in May 2021 – dominating Lee Appleyard and forcing a punishing sixth-round stoppage to earn the vacant English Title.

Sheffield’s most successful amateur boxer of all time added the vacant WBA Intercontinental Title to his collection by widely outpointing Spain’s Brian Pelaez at the Worthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt, Austria four months later.

The 25-year-old halted Ray Moylette in the tenth and final round of a one-sided contest for the WBC International Silver Title at the First Direct Arena in Leeds in March before defending that belt with a sixth-round stoppage win over tough Argentinian Mauro Perouene earlier this month in Cardiff.

O’maison (17-3-1, 7 KOs), a former English Super-Lightweight Champion, shared two close contests with Luton’s Kay Prospere in 2019, drawing the first and losing the second, before returning to winning ways with a points win over Serge Ambomo in May.

Derby Super-Lightweight Sandy Ryan (3-1, 2 KOs) gets an immediate shot at redemption against Erica Anabella Farias (27-5, 10 KOs) after suffering her first defeat in the pros at the hands of the former World Champion from Argentina on the Leigh Wood vs. Michael Conlan undercard in March.

Romford Heavyweight sensation Johnny Fisher (5-0, 4 KOs) returns to the ring after recovering from a hand injury that he suffered in his points win over Gabriel Enguema in front of over 2,000 of his ‘Romford Bull Army’ at the famous Alexandra Palace in February.

Hyde Lightweight prospect Campbell Hatton (7-0, 2 KOs) fights for the third time this year after notching wins over Joe Ducker at The O2 in London in February and Ezequiel Gregores at the AO Arena in Manchester in April.

Leeds Super-Bantamweight talent Hopey Price (7-0, 3 KOs) gets his second outing of the year, heavy-handed Manchester Cruiserweight Jordan Thompson (13-0, 11 KOs) looks to make it two KOs from two fights in 2022 and there’s action for Mansfield Bantamweight Nico Leivars (1-0) and Rotherham Super-Welterweight pro debutant Junaid Bostan.

This is like a NXTGEN card.

Was gonna say the can add Barry to the card to help sell tickets but he doesn’t sell much does he?

That’s why Johnny Fisher on this card , they’ll be hoping he takes a couple of thousand up to Sheffield .

People probably can’t afford to spend on trains etc.

Everyone’s looking at their wallets now.

Dalton says he’s headlining.

Harper normally sells the best on these shows. Fisher will probably match her sales. Not sure what Dalton does. Probably not too many.

obligatory Sheffield's greatest amateur of all time

Nice to give the young lads a run but hard one for DAZN to promote when theres no fight really worth getting excited for. Dont think many fisher lads will make the trip unless they get a good opponent anounced soon. I expect a soft touch coming of hand injurys.

Yeh. Romford is a long way to Sheffield.

Fisher should be selling his tickets for shows in London.

I'm confused.
I thought the British title fight was the top billing of what is essentially a small hall show in a bigger venue.
Also,
I thought Smith already had the title, I won money on him beating Lee Appleyard. Then I checked boxrec and it seems he dropped it, now going back for it

Just a bit weird to win then drop it then fight for it again in such a short period of time.

Really strange show this. I quite like the fight Smith is wanting to fight for the British so I’ve got no problem with that really (although it’s a shame some of the other guys turned down the fight) but this is a NextGen style show in a fairly big arena.

This can’t be just the only U.K. card on standard DAZN in August as it’s not good enough. I’d imagine they’ll plan for AJ on August 20th on PPV and then plan a U.K. show the week after to keep people from cancelling.

I’m probably in the minority but I actually quite enjoyed the first Ryan/Farias fight. One of the better womens fights in recent months so I don’t have much of an issue with that. I do though if it’s positioned as co-main!

Hopefully there’s more decent fights being added.

smithy vs o maison is a fight that would be more fitting as a stay busy undercard fight, between tougher fights for smith. i dont have a massive problem with it in itself but it's clearly not in the right place as a main event and its obviously a title on a platter type situation. hopefully a good first defense for smith is next

I think there are some reservations with Dalton stepping up, like you, I have no qualms about going for the British - or defending it to own it.
When your setting out career goals, for most that has to be one of them.
As for DAZN - it really isn't getting better is it? This is summer, it should be packed, and also agree this is small hall stuff and the Smith fight would not even headline on anything bigger.

Heard is too proud to use Ponds Forge or the Barnsley Metrodome.

One English youth title, one English junior title, a bronze in the Commonwealth youth, a silver in the European youth, quarter finalist in the world youthand a senior English ABA title

While Herol Graham only one gold at the world juniors and was senior British ABA champ.

Seen a couple of his fights. He's dire to watch. Along with Adam Smith trying to make his dismal fights sound like Gatti vs Ward.
