In a March, 1978 interview with the New York Daily News, George Gainsford stated that he kept Robinson away from Holman Williams because Williams would have neutralized Robinson-that's good enough for me to say Williams on points.

It would be a classic war, but Robinson would find his way to out-counter Holman with jabs and combinations to take a decision.
