When asked was it a first Commonwealth title fight in a non-Commonwealth country we found some other examples. However, was it the only Commonwealth title fight to use 3 judges. I found that a bit baffeling, surely its a Commonwealth Boxing Boards ruling that the ref scores.

Anybody done some research into this for some articles, I found it interesting - what happens in Commonwealth title fights in Canada? What is the official ruling on the scoring for Commonwealth fights.

Interesting points...i thought the same myself when i heard about them having three judges but couldn't be arsed to pursue the point as it was so early in the morning..i would expect it was the power of TV...if Oscar wants three judges he gets three judges etc etc 8)

In Australia they use 3 judges in commenwealth fights.

So it is just us making ourselves a laughing stock? Encouraging...

If its a BBBoC thing, why doesn't only the ref score in world title fights over here? Surely the Commonwealth board have a set of rules?

I still remember the first time i watched a british fight and at the end the ref decided who won, I couldn't believe it, At first i thought it was a joke and then i realised maybe they are to tight to have three judge's and they can put more money in there own pockets

Well, say if as part of the deal for the Hatton vs Tszyu fight, Kostya Tszyu's promoter asked for one of his guys to defend an NABF title in the UK (not that this will happen, just hypothetical) would the referee be the sole judge?

I think this is an interesting question, personally.

Fighters fighting abroad come under the rules of the country,commission or State they are fighing in.If a british title fight was fought in America it would be judged by three judges,if it was allowed to take place there.

So therefore, if the NABF title was fought in the UK it would be with a ref scoring it?
