BBBoC technical draws...

-Does anyone like the rule of accidental foul cuts stoppages in the first 4 rounds being a draw rather than a no contest?
-Has it always been like that?
-Will they ever change it?
I personaly hate it, and i especially hate that its different to the rest of the world (that i know of). To me a draw implies the fight was completed and both people were equal, a no contest implies the fight wasnt completed, and i know what one is more accurate...you could have 3x 10-7s then whack heads in the 4th and it be called a draw, hardly factually.
Fairly meaningless for those in the know, just seems objectivly wrong and very easy to fix.

It used to be, unless it was a disqualification offence, that the boxer who was cut would lose by stoppage.

That's a really good question and something I'd never really thought about.
Your logic is definitely correct, by definition the fight isn't a draw because the participants hadn't fought to a level that results in equality.
One for the Board. I will write to them this week (not that I have any form of special voice) but a good point.

Yep Good question and probably something worth them having a look at ,, but playing devils advequet here ,, under the conditions you describe , i suppose the guy who's won 3 rnds easy would be a bit pissed if it was declared a draw in the 4th for a clash of heads or something ,,, However though if you get what looks to be shaping up to be a cracking fight , with it hard to pick a winner each rnd , a draw would probably be a good result if it was an accidental clash of heads or something

Disgraceful rule the tech draw lark, why should someone end up with a draw on their record just because an opponent was reckless with the head, imagine Calzaghe or Mayweather with that nonsense showing up on their ledger

Absolute prime example of where saying they fought to a draw would just be objectify wrong... yet if it was in the UK that would be on his record.

He was bleeding a lot, should have been stopped, then after the 4th was done they pretty much had the cut under control and then they jumped in!

Yes accidental.
If a fighter can't continue because of a foul it should be a disqualification

That’s cos the corner pretty much had the fight stopped asap.
Surely the WBA can see that Madrimov done enough to become mando?
That cut would like keep Soro out for 3/4 months so not even a chance of a quick turnaround.

Yh that’s true. We see many times the corner working round after round to help the cut and eventually a few rounds later, the cut calms down.

Silly rule. But I've made decent money betting on draws when I feel head clashes could happen.
I think Chris Jenkins has two.

Archaic rule held up by an archaic old boys club, the BBBoC. I've lost a lot of money getting done by "draws" when it should be a NC. Won some as well but the losses are what i remember. Warrington vs Lara was a bad one for bettors.
