I believe Dom Ingle did announce it earlier this year.
How well can he do as a trainer/coach?
When i was training juniours , it cost me money ,,, , , gym fee's were perhaps couple dollars a night ,, get 10 kids , 8 would never have the money to pay , Take them to a show , petrol , out of gym funds (me ) most of the time they would have no money , so get them a bite to eat and a drink , out of gym funds ME ,
Thanks for the insightconeye wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 01:45When i was training juniours , it cost me money ,,, , , gym fee's were perhaps couple dollars a night ,, get 10 kids , 8 would never have the money to pay , Take them to a show , petrol , out of gym funds (me ) most of the time they would have no money , so get them a bite to eat and a drink , out of gym funds ME ,
Seniors , well a bit stricter with them regards paying , , but they would pay , and that payed for the equipment , , and i can assure you it never covered costs , because just when we had all the equipment , the lads were getting better and needed to travel for fights , came out of gym funds , If gym saved up a couple grand that went on any who were going to nationals gym would pay for them , if they represented the country gym would pay ,
Profesionals , got to be honest made it worthwhile , i managed and trained them , and charged 20% promoters would pay for travel accomadation , and meals , BUT the money i recieved never covered my lost wages , alls it done was payed for the memories , would of been nice and worth it if you had a Fury or Bellow , Brook or someone of that calibre earning what they earnt , but if you don't its gonna cost ya
Overall you do it for the love , the adventures and the memories , definetly not to get rich .
Although i do know some trainers who could'nt teach a pig to eat , who do earn good money by packing the gym out with keep fit bag punchers , the guys who will pay a fortune to go to a gym , buy the t shirts and hoodies , provided theres
two things happen ,
one the merchandise has boxing gym sprawled all over it ,
Two they don't actually ever have to get in the ring .
Myself i never had time or inclination for that with me it was and still is simply don't want to box go elswhere ,
You don't even need a boxer to be hitting the big time for the vultures to jump in , theres always plenty circling any boxer you have who looks good , get a kid who you have for a few years , and if he starts winning tournaments , watch the talkers try to poach him .. . and theres not even money involved its just ego's at that stage..black panther wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 13:16Thanks for the insightconeye wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 01:45When i was training juniours , it cost me money ,,, , , gym fee's were perhaps couple dollars a night ,, get 10 kids , 8 would never have the money to pay , Take them to a show , petrol , out of gym funds (me ) most of the time they would have no money , so get them a bite to eat and a drink , out of gym funds ME ,

Sounds really like a tough game. Even if you you get a boxer who goes big-time, just when they do they might decide to jump ship.
Definitely sounds like you need a real love of the game to do it. And a second source of income or deep pockets!
