Question..Brendan Ingle story concerning Naz

A story the fantastic brendan Ingle tells about Naz is how he first came across him.
You`ve heard it, Naz getting picked on by four or five kids when he was a little kid and fighting them all, untill Ingle scared them away and invited Naz to his gym because he saw something in him.
Excellent story no doubt, but Naz I recall now denies the story.
The same story was written about 50yrs earlier, almost identical.
But who knows who the original boxer was??
