Usyk v AJ

Before the fight I was one of those who was fuming at the price with my point that the undercard was not good enough, I also thought the outcome of the main event was blatantly obvious. I thought the main event was an excellent fight.

AJ did not dissapoint with his performance during the fight and his conduct afterwards.

Any idea on the viewing figures?

Those who watched the show, was it worth £26.95

How much do people think Usyk v Fury will cost?

It was £27.95 for HD, I paid and enjoyed it but it wasn't worth 28 quid but they have you by the bollocks

Unexpectedly I thoroughly enjoyed the main event and was astonished at AJs behaviour afterwards.

I didn’t pay for the show … instead went round my son’s house.

I worry what cost Usyk v Fury will be

I enjoyed it and thought the undercard was much more reasonable than some other recent ppvs.

I watch it round a mate's 5 of us, I gave him a tenner.

I bought it and my brother in law and his family came and joined us. I thought it was a superb fight and well worth the money. The undercard was pretty good, too, although I bought it for the Uysk - Joshua rematch.

Joshua doesn't usually have meltdowns and is, I think, a good bloke...but what a time to have a meltdown . It should have been Uysk's moment. I do wonder if Joshua was slightly concussed. Seemed very out of character to me. Still, he can feel very proud of his performance. He boxed brilliantly against a master craftsmen. A bit like losing a snooker final to Ronnie O'sullivan. Zero shame in it.

Agree. A good event
Not out of character for AJ (see Ruiz I). He does need prof help though. The sycophants around him are not helping.
Yes though, AJ should be very proud of his performance.

The fight itself was worth it - any bona fide HW title fight has to be worth the price of a couple of cinema tickets and a bag of popcorn doesn’t it.

Sky’s presentation was even more appalling than usual with the exception of the excellent Fraser Clarke. How dumbed down can it get, Caldwell explaining the bleeding obvious on his gadget, Froch embarrassingly ill informed and Okolie virtually monosyllabic.

Frequently there were adverts between rounds which is totally unacceptable on a PPV and doesn’t happen on BT. Smith’s commentary as usual mainly consisted of him telling us how various ringside observers were currently scoring the fight.

I would happily pay a small surcharge to receive the live feed with no studio chit chat or commentary on it.

If chisora vs Parker is 20. Fury vs wilder 3 at 5am is 20. Whyte vs Rivas is 20, AJ vs pulev is 25….

This should be 40. Not taking into account inflation.

Glad it’s not40…, but being 30% more (probably only 10% more if you account for inflation) for something just wayyy bigger…. With hrg zhang and Calum smith backing it up isn’t mad.

Did'nt pay that i regneid and got my dazn subscription back , mainly because i did'nt want to risk getting a stream fail when the big fight comes on , and then by time i find another its finished ,, but it only cost 13 dollars or something so thats less than 7 quid ,,, However my main discision was do i get up for the undercard , it started at around 3am and the main fight finished around 8 am ,, for me it was worth the money but not worth the sleep i lost , could of just set the alarm got up at 7 am and not missed anything ,, , the undercard i seen was average ,, i don't like womens boxing , enjoyed the Callum Smith fight , thought the chinese guy s fight was boring , that was make a cuppa time , the rest were all so awe inspiring i can't remember them

Same here, it's not too bad if there is a couple of you, wouldn't pay it on my own though. The only other fight out there I'll chip in for is Usyk Fury, the rest of them forget it, not PPV worthy IMO

Depends how you do it, if you go out on a Saturday night you will go through 50 quid without trying.

If you are watching it on your own with a few cans and a takeaway it will be about 50 too.

With mates it's a cheap enough night.

Same. I listened on the night and watched it on the Sunday. I'll never buy a PPV.

i watched it with two mates so £10 each,
all the big fights were quality,
so yes we all thought it was well worth it

I watched the DAZN version (with american commentators) on a FREE stream.

Life is too short to sit thru an uninspiring undercard, so I tuned in late and caught the heavyweight semi-main event and then the big fight without any issues.

I think I got my money's worth.

Watched it the next day. Didn’t think the result was really in doubt but Joshua boxed well - better than I expected.

He’s a good-ish heavy but in reality he’s a hype job (in the sense that’s he’s at a considerably lower level than the bullshit machine that’s been around him for a decade now).

With Adam Smith commentating I wouldn’t have watched it for free though

Absolutely not! Going on a tangent but that whole Usyk streaming the fight on his YouTube channel was false advertising - was connected to mighty Kiev via VPN but wasn't on.

Comparibly to other recent PPV fights I.e. Fury vs Whyte, this was well worth the money.

I'm a boxing fan so won't grumble. A round of drinks costs far in excess of 28 pounds.

I went to a pub to watch it.

They had a big screen, which was good... And it wasn't that busy, so I got my own table, which was good.... And they sold 3 different cask ales, which was good.
They also had Karaoke on at the same time, and had the volume muted for the undercard.
They didn't have the volume on for the main event loud enough to hear it. These things were bad. Especially the karaoke.

Pub landlord in my village is a boxing fan, so normally has all the fights on... Although this time he'd booked a band before the date was announced, forcing me to go to the nearest town. Which is Aylesbury. Which is amongst the biggest shitholes in the country.

If I'd've known, I'd've paid for it I think.

I wouldn't have minded. I bought Fury Wilder 3, but before that I think the last one I paid for was Haye Harrison.
So it's not like I pay a lot on them.
