Maxi Hughes and Kid Galahhad will be fighting for the ibo lightweight title on the Wood Lara card. I slightly favour Hughes in this

he has that momentum.

I like Hughes. He's a good fighter despite being a bit short on power. But for some reason, not sure why, I'm expecting a very good version of Barry in this.

Galahad should win clearly in a competitive fight.

Yeah as I said in another thread I’m backing Barry here. Galahad rarely gets outboxed. Could have gone either way vs the volume punching style of Warrington (or nullified it.) and was winning by a mile before copping one against Martinez.

I expect Galahad to be the outsider here as well.

Kid wide points win for me.

I think Galahad wins this convincingly

Kid jumping 2 weights… brings it closer imo. Think Maxi’s determination and momentum gets him a razor thin decision.

Rossington’s Maxi Hughes has blasted Sheffield’s ‘arrogant’ Ingle Gym ahead of his fight with Kid Galahad later this month.

Hughes told The Free Press: “I have respect for him as a fighter and that’s where it stops.

“I find the Ingle’s a bit arrogant and rude. They seem to have a chip on their shoulder.

“They sort of look down on you.”

His team previously got on the wrong side of Hughes’s trainer Sean O'Hagan and stablemate Josh Warrington when Galahad fought the Leeds Warrior in 2019.

That bout was won by Warrington on a controversial split decision.

Hughes, also 32, said: “They have not just had that fight; they beat Galahad twice in the amateurs, so they know him pretty well and where Josh had success.

“Josh still beat him (in 2019) but that wasn’t the best Josh. Kid got in his head and wound him up.”

From 2014 to 2016, Galahad served a ban from boxing due to doping. Reason: The Qatar-born Kid Galahad tested positive for Stanozolol, an anabolic steroid. Caught by the United Kingdom Doping Agency (UKAD).

Amigos, I might be old-fashioned or conservative, but I prefer boxers who play fair. It does not matter winning or losing. But competing fair is what I admire and respect endlessly. How many times did Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran, Rocky Marciano, Ali, Alexis Arguello lost in is career, even by KO? Several times.

Yet they were and they still my all-time-favorite boxers, because they were loyal to the sport of boxing and respectful to us boxing fans. I lost my confidence in Kid Galahad. Just like a broken glass, it can't be repaired.

In my mind, Galahad is in the same level of anti-sportsmanship (willing to deceive fans and fellow competitors), getting caught by anti-doping agencies, same level of lies and deception as Lance Armstrong, Shane Mosley, Barry Bonds, Marion Jones and Anderson Silva (my humble opinion)

In my heart, as old boxing fan, do I root for Kid Galahad's win? I think you can guess the answer to that.

From reading old books, at least a couple of those were given questionable substances before fights.

Maxi done great I think that win over jono gave him a lot of heart he deveresd that win and has gone on and on but with kid he is such an awkward fight this is real test tho galahad had that real nasty ko maxi isn't going to stop him he will pressure him but kid is slick doubt he will be push back to the corner so easy. I think kid galahad will win this but he is top boxer. But maxi is a real live a oppo tonight
