It's unfair for the great Eder Jofre of Brazil to take on an up and coming sensational fighter like Ernesto "Nato" Marcel of Panama who in my opinion should be also in the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, NY.
Marcel was not the great Vicente Saldivar, in which Jofre thrashed him in only 2 rounds in Sao Paulo. Saldivar was shot and over the hill then by 1973. Saldivar wasn't even the same fighter after his comeback in 1969.
Jofre was 36 in '72 and Marcel by that time was 26 years old, in his prime.
Marcel would have been probably very fast for Jofre. Marcel wins on points.

Jofre, SD unless it's in Panama

Marcel would have beaten Jofre in Brazil, too. He was that good.

Jofre SD, except in Panama

I'd invision a very close fight. My gut feeling would be Eder Jofre by SD, but a SD for Ernesto Marcel would be within the realm of possibility.

Marcel-points.
