Clearly the opponent wasnt up to much and in
Addition the weight difference was a disgrace.
The promoter should of told the matchmaker to “f*ck off” when the fight was made.
The BBBofC should of told the promoter to “f*ck off” when the fight was made.
Adam Smith at Sky should of told the promoter the fight was not good enough to appear on TV.
But … well done to Frazer Clarke for speaking out, I thought it was a refreshing change hearing a fighter saying it was not good enough.
The more I hear Clarke speak the more I like him.

Do you think Clarke has no say in his opponents?

On paper the kid was 22 years old 6”6 , 230, 7-0. How’s ben/Fraz meant to know… interestingly when he fired that jab it wasn’t bad, I think he was poor, but I think the main thing that happened is he just shit himself.

Agreed, he’s got a wise old head on youngish shoulders.
At the Khan Brook public work out there was a bit of a kerfuffle with some loudmouth Khan fan refused entrance to the stage area and Fraze, who I don’t think was even working security, just came over and very maturely took the steam out of the situation. He could easily have manhandled this goon away but he let his brain do the work for him.

how often are bulgarian can crushers legit opponents?
someone of frazer;s experience, age, and level should be facing guys who've proven decent quality. not totally rando bulgarian bum bashers. look at all the good opponents he fought in the ams and wsb, it's just a waste of time matching him with guys like this

I was under the impression it was a short notice replacement.
Look obviously it was not an ideal opponent, my point is it would have been extream to not sanction it or for Frazer to refuse it given the information on hand. Generally better to get a poor fight than no fight. Matchmakers should get some blaim there job to reasesrch but not really the ones that have copped the blaim.
Now it turned into an absolute farce, and in hindsight no way that kid should of been near him. But easy to say looking back.
Fraze should fight Soko in an 8 rounder, it’s clearly the measuring stick required. If he smokes soko with ease then Basic at its time to move wayyy up. If it’s compeditive hold him back a bit. (I expect the smoking.)

Problem is, if you bet on them, your lucky to get your initial stake back, the odds are so screwed.
I think in any fight that gets filmed, if the bookies odds are worse than 60/40 then the matchmaking is all wrong. Problem is, 80% of televised fights are 95/5

They said it was a short notice opponent but no one else had been announced for Clarke beforehand so I’d be surprised if anything was locked in.
The BBBC were right to sanction it, particularly given the plethora of other mismatches that take place around the country every week.
Ben Shalom is blaming 258 management for it as he’s saying they turned down other opponents. That’s not the way to run things. If Boxxer aren’t happy with the quality of the opponent then Clarke shouldn’t fight. Also Sky need to have their own quality control too and refuse to put things to air that they’re not happy with.
It’s not the first time this has happened with Clarke. He made his debut literally against a guy who turned up to the pre show activities as a fan.
Regardless of his record it was pretty clear from seeing the weigh in what we were likely to be getting.
