Nah, Usyk vs Fury is more preferrable for the spring.

Usyk was the mandatory challenger of the WBO for Joshua.
So whilst Joyce is the new mandatory for the WBO.
Usyk would be required to fight the mandatory challenger of the WBA first, then the IBF mandatory, and then finally WBO.

The thing is, Joshua in a sense was a voluntary defence. I expect the orgs to allow him to fight Fury next for undisputed. Might be difficult for him to fight Wilder without dropping a belt.

WBA = Dubious v (H. Fury/Hunter)
IBF = Hrgovic
WBO = Joyce

Certainly a usyk-fury fight would be a stinker and would tie the linear title up for ages

Joshua's team were stupid to persue the usyk route instead of fury

Wilder may progress if he stops helenius

Ruiz needs another big fight

Really the only one who deserves a shot at the usyk bauble right now is Joe Joyce now

Fury's already tried to line up Chisora and now he seem to be suggesting Mahmoud Charr as his next opponent.

It would be amazing that if anyone still has any trust left in this man.

It's unclear, until it gets signed.

I believe it's the WBA's mandatory challenger.

Usyk was AJ's WBO mandatory challenger.

Pulev was AJ's IBF mandatory challenger.

Povetkin was AJ's WBA mandatory challenger.

Ruiz Jr. was a voluntary defence, which included an immediate rematch clause.

Until the announcement of the Wilder bout, there was recently a lot of media coverage about the victor of Usyk-Joshua having to defend their straps against Robert Helenius, who was previously the WBA's mandatory challenger.

BT Sports last weekend stated that Joe was willing to step-aside to allow the heavyweight title unification to go ahead (i.e. Fury-Usyk), but if it doesn't, then we might see Usyk-Joyce.

The WBA are an utterly rancid organisation though, and Oleksandr Usyk said he would like to face the winner of Helenius-Wilder.

Who knows what the WBA will do. I recall Helenius v Kownacki was an eliminator, but I'm not sure he was ever mandatory. Seems he has gone the WBC route.
One thing I noticed yesterday is Warren is calling Dubois the WBA mandatory. Which means one of two things:
1) Warren is lying again about the status of one of his fighters; he spent a good year telling everyone Joyce the WBO mandatory (which he wasn't).
2) WBA have indeed made Dubois the mandatory for beating Bryan (but that goes against their rules for regular belt holders)

:lol: Love your optimism, it's unclear until he is in the dressing room ready to come out.
It was signed between Fury and Joshua, with Fury knowing he was contractually obliged to fight Wilder again.

Fury (if he's willing), maybe Wilder, then Joyce / Ruiz. Of course, Wilder isn't next in line, so to speak, but is still probably a more important opponent than Joyce.

In reality, I believe Usyk and Wilder both plan to fight each other in their next fight after Wilder - Helenius. That means Joyce and Ruiz (and perhaps Dillian Whyte) are going to be locked into a race to achieve something to move them to the front of the line. Although, given their ages, Joyce is the only one who's running out of time.

Well, indeed...
