I'm writing this subject because I looked at Fernando Vargas' IG and I read that he thought he was the youngest Super Welterweight or Junior Middleweight Champion in the world at 21. However, what he nor his cornermen never research that Vargas is not the true youngest Junior Middleweight Champion.
Darrin Van Horn is the actual youngest Junior Middleweight Champion at aged 20 years and 151 days when he beat Robert Hines to win the IBF Junior Middleweight Title on February 5, 1989. Does anyone think Vargas and his team forgot or didn't do their research that Van Horn won that same IBF junior middleweight title that Vargas would hold that same belt 9 years later while Van Horn is younger than Vargas?

I doubt Vargas is cognitively capable of 'research' and can't imagine anyone surrounding him being a boxing historian.

Matthew Hilton won that belt at 21 from Buster Drayton. He was then the yougest jr middleweight champ in history. He lost the belt to Hines who in turn lost it to Van Horn who was 20, becoming the youngest champ ever in that category. Vargas never had a claim for being the youngest champ at 154.

Of course and Vargas had his best moment 24 years ago as he still claimed he was the youngest 154lbs champ, but he still never bother researching who fought and won the same IBF junior middleweight title before Vargas in Darrin Van Horn like I said before.
I have to go to his IG and told him the truth that he isn't the youngest junior middleweight champion, but Darrin Van Horn is the youngest junior middleweight champion. I don't know if get my message which is remain to be seen.
