Who leaked the information to the dailymail?

So apparently this was known 2 weeks ago. Both camps and the board. Someone decided to leak it to the dailymail in the hopes of sabotaging the fight.
Some people were pretty vocal about not wanting the fight to proceed....
We can only speculate at this point.

The board might have leaked it themselves...There must have been a degree of worry about sanctioning this fight with the weight issues.

That was my thinking. They’d have been royally fucked if anything happened to Eubank and wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.

I believe it was matchroom (anonymously)themselves, under the arrogant belief that they could still push the fight through and to substantially increase ppv buys following an absolutely shocking couple of months for the App.
May sound far fetched, though stranger things have happened.

Mad that everyone apparently knew on September 23. And that it would have happened if there was no leak. Wonder how many dirty screens from high profile fighters have been buried in the name of cash.

I was listening to a podcast today, and one of the guys said Benns failed test was being discussed in one of the London Gyms over 4 weeks ago.

Doesn't the testing agency have to publish failed tests?

Nope. VADA were contracted to the promoters and that’s who they report to.

So in theory anyone can fail a test and as long as nobody says anything they can fight? Thats nuts.
If thats the case then why don't the BBBoC deal with VADA so the report goes to them

If the promoters are to be believed then the board found out about it at the same time. Perhaps there’s something in it whereby the authorising commission are also told about it when the teams are.
Sadly I understand the boxers/promoters wanting and pushing for the fight to go ahead. Boxers want to fight and earn and the promoters want to earn and deliver for their networks.
It’s the board that I’m really worried about here. It’s their responsibility to make sure this shit doesn’t happen. It was only called off because it was made public. If it wasn’t then the fight’s still happening. I do wonder how many other positive tests have come about and the board have let things slide.

Yes if the board was made aware at the same time then it does beg the question why it took a newspaper to leak it before they acted. It all smells very fishy.

From VADA website
Professional athletes will volunteer to be subject to unannounced testing at any time during the eight weeks prior to a scheduled fight. As in the Olympic program, an agreement to participate will require fighters to officially inform us of their daily whereabouts, so that they can be tested per the program. Athletes will agree that all results are immediately released to the appropriate adjudicating commission overseeing their upcoming contest

I think somebody within VADA, frustrated at seeing that all parties involved (including the Board) were covering up the result.

My initial thoughts were maybe Eubank snr ,,, Now if its correct that the relevent committee are told , it suggests the bbbc knew all along weeks ago ,, and did'nt act ,, so now i'm thinking maybee a bbbc member , who's not happy ,, guess we'll never know ,, but the big problem is , it had to be leaked to the press , before anything done

It's exciting to say Eubank Sr or Frank, but it's more likely someone less known. A lower ranking employee at the board, at Vada, a friend of someone in the know, a local boxer that overheard the story in the gym. They could all do with £10k or whatever the shitrag would offer them for the story.
Someone taking the story to daily mail isn't leaking it because they want to leak the news, it's because they want the money.

I'm guessing that the BBBoC had quietly given Hearns the go ahead, otherwise he would have got Luxembourg on board.
With the story being broken they were forced into a corner.
Otherwise no one would have known.
Begs the question, has the board overlooked other positive results?
What happened with Whyte was a farce

My guess would be someone from the BBBoC.
There were also leaks around Whyte - Rivas & the Fury’s nandrolone cases where VADA weren’t involved. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same persons leaked all three.

Even though it was pretty last minute I still think they could have used a different commission to keep the fight on this weekend. Clearly though they decided against it perhaps because of the impact it could have on all of the undercard fighters.
This is my concern too. Clearly UKAD aren’t fit for purpose in boxing and when VADA is used positive results are swept under the rug.
