Heavyweights: Mike Weaver vs. Herbie Hide

12 or 15 Rounds Heavyweight Bout

Either Hide out-boxes and out-punches Weaver on the outside to take a decision or late round stoppage or Weaver would pull a comeback fight by jabbing and wearing Hide down with body shots to take a decision or knocking him out late with a left hook and right hand. What do you guys think and who do you got?

I don't fancy Hide's chances to be honest.

He had a marked tendency to be impatient and fight over-aggressively up at HW - not banking on his speed and ability to be elusive - and tried to bang-over bigger men who had the ability to punch back and weather his attacks.

I'd put Weaver a few rows behind Bowe and Vitali K....but I Herbie suspect walks himself into trouble again.

Unless Hide scores early and precisely, Weaver by KO.

Hides only chance is an early ko. Weaver was a slow starter, But I give him about a 10% chance.
Weaver would knock Hide out in 6 or 7 rounds

Hide did like a fast start - let his hands go early, came forward - and you know he clocked Bowe a few times in the process. It is actually quite an interesting fight for a few, sparky rounds.

But he was impatient, a bit addicted to that approach and was reluctant to settle on a Plan B if the bombs did not land ......I thought the way he fought Vitali K was plain dumb and actually when he could have messed Vitali around and it was the Ukrainian who potentially had to do the chasing to take the title.
