I think most of us cynics know that he's guilty as sin but will get a slap on the wrist at best because of some procedural error.

Isolated contamination event.

VADA has no teeth
As Eddie Hearn once said, what is the point of using them if you ignore the results!

Depends what, if any, mitigating factors there are. As it stands he should get at least a 2 year ban.

He should get a ban but I don't think he will. Either money changes hands or court action will be threatened by matchroom.
The way Eddie has been talking, it sounds like he is saying the BBBC have ignored VADA in the past so they should ignore VADA now. He wants to make Eubank-Benn for November/December time from what he's said.

I think it'll be determined by factors we don't yet know.
By now, Eddie must know even more than he did before the story broke. It doesn't seem like he's cutting ties or distancing himself. He seems confident they have a get out of jail card. Hard to second guess what that could be.
A denial of Conor's "due process" and finger pointing at the board obviously won't cut the mustard. It has to be more, and be about why the test failed.
Presumably Conor, when asked privately, or maybe his team, have got something they think will exonerate him.
It's very interesting that the board remain silent after their initial statement. You'd expect them to grandstand. Are they in some way compromised?
When this whole thing broke Eddie referred to "medical information" being shared with team Eubank. So presumably after the failed test, somebody has done something, leading to this "medical information ". That information has yet to see the light of day.
Vada, ukad and the board have all been dragged into the controversy and stand to suffer lasting damage. If Eddie and Conor magic up a "get out of jail " card somehow, the focus will fall upon those organisations even more.
I think it may come down to the difference between being able to say, Conor passed all the other tests and was ok to box, and the more widespread feeling that Conor has allegedly been on Peds and a trace caused the failed test. I expect Eddie to drive, or attempt to drive, the focus to be on the former, coupled with the "medical information ".
I suppose lawyers's advice is behind everyone being so tight lipped.
Either Eddie already knows how they will play it, and is confident he'll have the last word, or else he'll be waiting for the opportunity to publicly ditch Benn when a revelation comes out.
I think it comes down to, either Conor (by now) knows why the test failed, or else he's saying (privately) he's got no idea. It will be interesting to see what ukad do with the information vada has now shared. If Conor already knows what caused the test to fail he may be confident he can talk his way out of this mess. If he has no idea, it will be worrying times because no explanation from him simply won't cut the mustard. Perhaps he'll have his own "nasal spray" explanation.
I suspect he'll end up with a ban, having said all that.

It should, as with lots of other sports, be a strict liability offence. 4 year ban with possible mitigation to 2. If the story of another failed test is true then 4yrs and see you later.

What do you think will happen with regards Conor Benn.
1. Tell everyone you ate uncastrated wild boar meat.
2. When the BBBofC write to you asking you to contact them to attend a hearing..... don't.
3. Knowing you're a PED cheat and the afore mentioned hearing would mean a ban, go on a diet of alcohol and recreational drugs.
4. Develop depression, which isn't helped by your career being in the toilet and the massive amount of depressants you've been drinking.
5. After suicidal thoughts, you hit the gym again.
6. Because the ban would have been for 2 years and you've effectively sat out said ban.
7. Get your lawyers and your Uncle Fwank to leverage the board into giving you your licence back without you having to admit that you did anything wrong.
8. Resume your career.
Why not? It's worked before.

vada bust people all the time, with much more money cash behind them than conor, i doubt 'lasting damages' are a concern for them

It's sad that the biggest fights in boxing involve lawyers these days.
Benn will get away with it. Legal loopholes.

Whatever happens, I have every confidence that we will end up with a set of clear and unambiguous findings, which will be clearly communicated to the media. It will leave us in no doubt what the BBBoCs stance is on this subject.

I am really surprised by the vote with over 50% thinking Benn will get off on a legal technicality.
Will anyone be apologetic or sorry if Benn is innocent? Or are you totally convinced he is guilty … if so why?

innocent how? illegal drugs were in his system, did he get set up or something? are the tests fake?
getting off on a technicality doesnt mean he's 'innocent' of using banned substances either

Really? I hadn't even commented on this thread. It's getting to the stage now where I think twice about even reading some threads because I know what's coming. I enjoy banter with the more educated lads but Margaret and Coneye it's just pure rubbish.

I try to be optimistic, but totally agree that will be what happens and the fight goes ahead in December regardless..
