CARL FROCH CALLS OUT JAKE PAUL

Carl Froch is confident he could beat Jake Paul if he came out of retirement.

Jake Paul is back in action on Saturday night when he takes on former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva in Glendale, Arizona.

As ever when Paul is set to fight, there is a debate as to whether he is taking the sport of boxing seriously or turning it into a circus.

In the eyes of former world super middleweight champion Carl Froch, he is convinced that Paul is pretending to be a professional boxer and believes he could make easy work of 'The Problem Child' inside the ring.

“Jake Paul can’t fight, he’s pretending, he’s conning people. He’s got his audience, I don’t begrudge him - he’s making money and doing what he’s doing. But he’s not a professional boxer," Froch told William Hill's Stripped Podcast.

"He knows not to come anywhere near me. He’s bigger than me, he’s 14 stone, he’s younger than me, he’s fresher, he thinks he can fight.

"I wouldn’t even train for this guy, I’d do a little bit of training. I might do the odd little run to get the heart beating, but I’d take Jake Paul to school and hammer him. He knows it, he wouldn’t fight me. No chance.”

Froch's 12-year professional boxing career saw him become a two-time world super middleweight champion and culminated in an unforgettable rematch against George Groves at Wembley Stadium, a fight which he won with a stoppage in round eight.

This would be the biggest fight in boxing if it happened.

Does anyone remember how big the audience was for Frochs last fight, where it took place and who the opponent was?

I just can't seem to recall it.

I thought Froch retired a little too early. Would have been an easy night against Chavez Jr and maybe last fight against GGG.

He only wanted the Ward rematch..

It was either that or nothing.

He was training for Chavez jnr and got injured. Then called it a day.

Far too many people take the whole YouTube boxing thing too seriously, saying it's ruining boxing etc and I've always says it's not aimed for Boxing audiences so has no real bearing on the sport, boxings got more to worry about than these guys and I've always thought as long as they don't get a title shot or thrown in against a legit world class fighter then it'll have no effect on the sport but seeing Mauricio Suilaman suck up to Jake Paul recently I'm starting to think that leech will get him in his rankings, he was already supposed to I'm sure, might've been before the Tommy Fury fight got scrapped, you can tell the WBC are about to jump on the gravy train and then we'll get a genuine Circus

Some of my favourite ever sparring involved Froch and yes I agree with you he is a hard ****. The sparring was with another hard **** .. Howard Eastman. They kicked Fcuk out of each other and both loved it.

Frankly he'd be stupid to accept a fight with Frochy. He could get bigger money against a less dangerous opponent surely. Or hell if you're gonna fight a guy that's gonna kick your ass, you might as well fight the guy that's gonna kick your ass for Maximum Profit.
