Roy Jones (193lbs) v Rocky Marciano (188lbs)

The Outcome?

Hmm interesting one. Meself, I think it comes down to two things:

1) Is Roy quicker than Ezzard Charles?

(Probably)

2) Would Roy hit hard enough to keep Marciano off him down the stretch ('cos you know Rocky wouldn't allow him the room and time that Ruiz did).

(Definitely not).

I think Rocky'd look like a mug for ten, eleven rounds, land one eventually, and Roy's head would land about, ooh, row seven. They were about the same height, after all, and I can't see how Roy'd keep him off once he started to tire/got punched in the nads a few times.

If this fight happened Roy Jones would not live much longer after the fight was over.

But what about Hopkins vs. Ray Leonard vs. Ray Robinson.

At what weight?

If that was a tag-team thingy, possibly with Juan Domingo Roldan partnering Robinson and Hopkins on the side of Leonard, that'd be a spectacle to behold...

I agree,Jones could not stand up to adversity, and Mr.Marciano would have had him unconcious, long before he had time to start crying to the referee,as he did against Tarver.

I think Marciano only had the success that he did because of the reletively lame era in which he fought. If he'd been a bit older or younger, Louis or Liston would have marmalized him.

..marciano was clumsy but he wasn't slow...look at films or tapes of his fights and you'll see he was always right in front of the guy he was fighting. jones used more foot speed than charles, but charles had much quicker hands....and the words "quiicker" and "faster" are not pure synonyms in this sense. even the well past his prime charles was able to land terrific combinations on marciano.....but jones did not have that kind of quickness. and marciano was always there right in front of ezzard. at that stage of his career ezz was still a superior fighter to jones. marciano would demolish jones somewhere in the middle to late rounds....if jones would still come out for them.

RJJ's hands and feet are possibly the quickest of any one that ever laced them up from middleweight on up to heavy.

At heavy he wouldn't be able to keep Marciano off of him.

Marciano would pulverize Jones Jr and it would not for an instant be competitive. To compare Roy to Charles- who fought and beat the best at middle and light heavy, in addition to being HW champ and making 8 defenses- is pointless. Charles knew how to fight in close and at a distance. With Marciano, the thing was his will to win, to impose his view of the fight on his rival and he would get inside on anybody he'd be in with. Jones Jr does not know how to fight inside and he does not like to fight when it involves him getting hit back. He'd not last 5.

Hard hands + Soft chin = Short fight.

Marciano retires Jones. I think he'd bust him up pretty bad. what about Ezz V Jones? Two slick boxers. I'd have to go for Charles, of course, he didn't fold when thignas got tough and his achievements in the ring totally overshadow Jones's.

First of, if htey pt ROy jones in against Rocky marciano, then they better have a body bag ready for jones at the end of the fight, Their is no way jones could stand up to marcianos heavy punches and brawling. Marciano is a lot bigger than jones cause marcianos big boned and muscular and marciano looks like a heavyweight. Marciano would totally outphysical jones whos never stood up to that kind of puncher, and if marciano lands a suzie Q its over. Marciano TKO 3

ali would beat a young tyson the same way he beat liston, he would get to tysons head and tyson would mentally lose himseld the mfight.

Frazier vs jones??- u guys gotta stop comparing jones to the top heavyweight of all time?? frazier would KO jones early. Compare jones to the middleweight greats. Jones was at his best a middlewight.

Rocky vs Ali- like i explained in another post, I think Marciano would get to ALi in the later rounds. Marciano would never crumble to alis antics and would dig vicous body shots and bang away at ali's arms/ marciano would get inside ali and wear him down and marciano would catch the 1966 ali and ali would have to stop him on cuts to win.

Marciano vs Tyson- tysons only chance is put marciano away early since rocks a slow sarter and tysons an amazing starter plus hes got amazingly quick hnds and power. marcianos heart will win him this one and he would probably bounce of the canvas and if he survived into mid round marcianos power will wear tryson down cause tyson doesnt have a lot of heart and marciano would TKO 10

Wright vs Robinson ? hahahahahaah what a jk winky would be lucky to win 3 rounds in this fight if it went the distance let alone beat him. RObinson is the best ever with amazing speed and bozing skills as well as power. Robinson KO 11

Hopkins vs Lenoard- Id say Lenoard would win a 15 U desicion around scores of 145-141. Hopkins owuld put up a fight but the last time he faced master boxer like this was when he got outclassed by roy jones. leonard would out box him and stay away from a slugging contest and hopkins will have to outphysical leonard ot beat him. Leonard at his best is a welterweight.

winky vs leonard- at JM, leonard 15 U 11 rounds to 4. winky is not in the same class as these guys. hes a great boxer but no sugar robinson or leonard.

Rocky wins this one hands down.

Jones would look good for 4-5 rounds, but the Rock would catch up with him & blast him back to the 1990's!!!!!
