Does anyone who fought at 154 beat him?

In my view, only the great Mike McCallum would.

Any other 154 pounder would get thrashed and destroyed.

Several give Hearns problems at 154. But he doesn't lose many.
I'd love to see McCallum fight Hearns that would of been great.

I think the Motor City Cobra beats McCallum, but the Hitman could get overzealous, tire and get stopped late.

Hearns 116-112 for me.

Look pretty evenly matched for a sparring session. But sparring is not an actual fight.
Definitely a dream match up

I'd take Robinson, Gavilan, Griffith and Luis Rodriguez to beat Hearns at 154. I can't help but suspect that guys I didn't see like Jose Basora, Holman Williams and Charley Burley beat him as well.

I'd take SRR by stoppage, too strong and durable, SRL would be 50/50.

Possibly McCallum. Ray is a bit of an unknown,Kalule gave him a bit of a good fight.

Leonard v Hearns at 154 would have been interesting.

Canelo Alvarez & Mike McCallum.

I feel those guys would have been able to withstand Hearns's guided missile Right hand & pressure him into late rounds defeat.

Canelo might have been able to Hagler him if he went balls out, but that's not his style.

The guys I mentioned all beat middleweights when they were not much over welterweight. of course, there was no junior middleweight division years ago.

My original question was about people that fought at 154. Matters not though. All opinions welcome.

Indeed.

Leonard and Hearns would always have had intruiging fights providing both were still 'living'.

Two evenly matched ATGs with phenomenal skillsets who always brought the best out of each other.

Hearns pretty unstoppable at light middle especially during 1982 to 86 timeframe

McCallum, Ray Leonard, Emile Griffith and possibly Julian Jackson. If there is one champion I’d bet on Hearns to beat handily it’s Canelo. Absolutely no chance.

I think Mugabi, pre-Hagler, gives him all he wants and is a very live dog to catch Hearns and take him out. But, I wouldn't bet on it.

Robinson would be another that would have had a good chance.

I don't disagree one bit with you. The great Mike McCallum was a very complete fighter.

Once read that he was considered a head case, in that he was difficult to deal with outside the ring

I'm inclined to agree with you.

If Tommy boxed, I think he could have won, but Hearns just couldn't resist going for it and that would have been his undoing against someone like McCallum.

Mike had a great chin to go with his technical ability.

Someone with a granite chin and stamina who can put Hearns under pressure beats him.

Fortunately for Tommy, fighters with those attributes almost always are ATGs and there aren't too many of them to choose from, particularly in the relatively unfashionable 154 lb division.
