Nathan Gorman - Is that it?

I saw Wardley v Gorman as a real 50/50 pick 'em
What surprised me was that Gorman, despite loads of notice had seemingly not got himself in the best of condition and was carrying a lot of excess.
Did that mean Gorman couldnt motivate himself for a career defining British title tilt?
Therefore, Is it all over for Nathan?
He has a decent skill set but i feel he should have tried to 'box' Wardley and not just have a shoot out with him.

Turns out all gypsies aren't natural boxers.

It wouldn't surprise me if Gorman hanged up his gloves. Surprised he's only 26. Feels like he will always get poled axed whenever he fights a hungry contender

He isn't motivated enough to get in shape. Has enough boxing skill to compete at a decent level but not in his current shape.

I think he possibly should walk away. The biggest issue for me isn’t so much his shape/fitness (whilst it is still a problem), it’s that he didn’t seem to have the heart for it.
He’s got some skills but doesn’t shift many tickets and is someone that I can’t see a promoter wanting to build up again. He’s probably too good to be used against guys like Adeleye/Fisher and anyone at a higher level that can punch will take him out without much fuss.
Unless he gets himself into better shape and gets a good win in the away corner then I struggle to see where he goes from here.

Isn't he just another hype job with a padded record?

As I said elsewhere, lovely skills and can punch a bit, but hard to see how he goes anywhere with that punch resistance and conditioning. It's strange, he always seems clear eyed but just can't stand up to power shots above a certain level.

i dont think so, he just has a bit too much talent to be cannon fodder

Gorman is just weird. Obviously very talented…. but he has the traits of a bully in the ring. If he doesn’t get you out and you stand up and fight back he will fold.
Fabio was hurt. Then showed balls to fight back and NG just capitulated. His corner know him very well and probably sensed what was going to happen.
Just can’t see this version being of 270lbs NG going anywhere beyond British level.
Thomas Salek rematch.

There's been a lot of boxers with better wins on their record without getting a shot at the British title, let alone 2 shots.
Gorman has been disappointing in both attempts, I'm not sure where he goes from here

He's not motivated enough. Lazy habits. Disgraceful body in the ring.

He was overhyped and now people wonder why he's flopped badly twice.
Gorman is useful at English title level but struggles at British level.
I seriously doubt he will have the gumption to carry on, but could possibly get another crack at the British title or the Commonwealth title if he can string a few wins together again. Maybe even a late notice call for a Europan title if an opponent drops out, but hard to see what else he is going to achieve.

I suspect so…
I didn’t think he was ever going achieve much and it comes as no surprise that he’s been found wanting as soon as he faces opponents that fight back.

If you combined Gormans skill with Daves chin and heart, you’d have a top level fighter.

He’s fighting at the wrong weight. If he lived the life he’d be a cruiserweight.

well he'd only have to lose 55 or so, then cut the rest
i mean he's pretty f@ckin flabby, there's clearly a lot there he could lose. he was 250 in his debut and was still completely soft with love handles, jiggling, and 0 definition. whether he could get low enough for cruiser i dunno, but if he were in really good shape i doubt he'd be much above the 220 range. heavyweight conditioning and discipline is pathetic these days

Bridgerweight sounds good for him

but come on if you can’t get in shape when you’re facing big punchers that could seriously damage you…. You’re not going to commit

It's got to be harder to motivate themselves because they don't have to make a weight , plus they've seen Fury make a mockery of conditioning .
Not making excuses because Gorman has wasted a good career in my eyes , got plenty of talent .

There is a video circulating on Twitter of Fury rapping in his hotel room before the Wlad fight (as its seven years ago today) and he is in fantastic shape. Very lean.

Was the failed PED test before or after the dancing?

Yeah, he has always looked terrible physique wise and he looked 40 when he was 20.
Recently though he has looked good, leaned out and looks a lot better.
Wonder wfat has changed?
