Peak Marciano vs Peak Roy Jones Jr.
Both weighed in the mid to high 180s on fight night.
Could Jones speed and athleticism keep the powerful Marciano away. Would Marcianos power be too much

Jones, wide decision. He'd stay outside and beat Marciano to the punch the whole fight

That is also my opinion. But I know there are going to be some strong opinions against this.

A even playing field would be Jones off the roids. If that was the case, Marciano stops him.

Marciano would stop Jones late.

Jones wins several rounds, then Rocky catches him and cracks his chin.

X2 . At some point, Rock is going to catch Roy.

roy might win a decision in a 10 round fight, but over 12 or 15 championship fight it would be tough to hold rock off the whole time

Marciano by late stoppage. I have little doubt on this one.

Marciano knocks Jones out if Roy fights stupid, i,e trading toe to toe, otherwise he's too fast for Marciano and would pop shot him and step away the whole fight.

That is how I see it as well. Jones would fight extremely cautiously, and Marciano was not an acurrate puncher. However, Marciano threw so many punches, round after round. Sooner or later, he is going to catch Jones with something. And then it's over, immediately.
Charles and Walcott were great, skillful boxers. Marciano knew what he needed to do.

Although Charles was not as great as he once was he was in my estimation better than Roy Jones ever could be as a heavyweight. Marciano beat him twice. Walcott was the originator of the moves that Roy Jones liberally stole and yet Marciano crushed him. Archie Moore in my estimation was better than Roy Jones and Marciano also crushed him.
The one thing that works really well in Marciano's favor was his incredible physical conditioning where his punch rate went up instead of down as the rounds went on.
Marciano would whip himself into an absolute Frenzy and would hit Jones anywhere he could to break him down and slow him down before catching him and knocking him out unconscious. I figure it would be a knockout somewhere around the 10th or 12th round.

I think it'd be 7 or 8 rounds to 0 in favor of Roy Jones Jr. at the time that Marciano's right hand detonated on his chin, and laid him out for the count.

I'd pick RJJ. Even if this was at full HW (190 in Rocky's day), I'd wager RJJ was too slick to lose to the crude Marciano.

Jones would make Rocky look like an absolute bum. Rocky would think 4 Roys were in the ring with him. Great champion in his time though Rocky.
