At 160 and a rematch at 168.
I think Hagler by 7-4-1 decision at 160.
I think Toney by 6-4-2 decision in a rematch at 168.

At 160. Hagler wins a Unanimous Decision.
Hagler never competed at 168. So there's nothing to base it on.

Even on his worst night, Marvin Hagler wouldn't have been outworked by Dave Tiberi. Prime Hagler would eat Toney alive and get a late RSF in a fifteen rounder.

The Marvelous One would out-box and out-punch Toney at 160lbs to take a decision as Hagler would survive the Lights Out with his great iron chin.
Like Gilgamesh posted earlier, there's nothing to base on if Hagler ever fought at 168ls that he never fought at.

Doesn't seem too much of a stretch to me, to imagine Hagler boxing against Toney at 168.
I just think that Toney would be the slightly better SMW, after coming up from Regular MW, than Hagler would've been.

Hagler wins confidently. He could make pressure effective, that would make Toney utterly defensive.

Marvelous by decision. The great James "Lights Out" Toney was one of my favorite fighters, but he only beats Marvelous in the night of the Leonard fight in '87. Any other night, Marvelous wins most of the time.

Both at absolute best I think this is seriously close.

At 160, Hagler would have won by a convincing decision.
168 is more difficult to say, but I would still bet on Hagler.

Name me one of Toney's fights @160 and 168 that shows he would be competitive with peak Hagler.

He was good in that fight, but it was close and Hagler was a completely different proposition.
