Surely looks to me like they’re trying to set up Parker v Riakpohre next.
Would rather see that instead of Massey now. At least RR will eventually end up at heavy.

Too quick of a turn around for Parker in my opinion here. Brutal fight like his vs Joyce should have a good 6 months off….

Aside from that I can not figure this out. Is this just a gift for joe to lure him to sky and it’s the only guy they could throw at him? Do they have a wild confidence in Jack massy?

Only thing that makes any sense for me is if they want okolie or rich to move up soon and they have Parker in mind for them so are testing the waters with a cruiser to see how dangerous Parker looks as the bigger man.

It’s a stretch though…

Bonkers fight but something about Parker never convinces he puts Massey to the sword the way a former World Heavyweight champion should, still fancy him to win but wouldn't be surprised if Massey has some success

It might be competitive for a couple of rounds but Parker is 50 pounds heavier than Massey based on recent weights. Massey could probably go to 220 with his frame but he’s a naturally smaller bloke and hasn’t been in anywhere near the quality that Parker has.

I think Massey has just been thrown to help out with shifting the final 4,000 or so tickets and so they have a name in Parker on there. Massey will probably do a good few hundred:

Massey doesn't strike me as a concussive puncher! More a neat, tidy boxer. Hope he's getting paid well, maybe he's got his eye on bridgerweight?

Parker took a decent beating from Joyce.
Like most, I feel he may need a bit longer to recover.

Surely Parker not desperate for cash so not sure why he wants a fight right now ? Plus it's not a fight you can sell on a PPV card as an added attraction

He’s yet to fight under a Boxxer card isn’t he?

Just had a look at the Boxer roster, the only other heavyweights they have are:
- Hughie (Parker already beat.and would be a financial flop to have a rematch)
- Frazer Clarke (Way too early in his career)
- Jeamie Tshikeva, Nick Campbell and Steven Robinson (Will never be anywhere near Parker's level).

So they can't be building Parker for a fight against an in-house Heavyweight. Riakporhe could be the only in-house opponent.

Looking for another opponent, who is not a Boxxer guy, that Parker has not already faced, is not tied up elsewhere and is affordable as an opponent in the UK, the highest level options are really Pulev, Bakole, Sanchez, Wallin, Yoka. Not sure what Boxxer can do for Parker's career if he either wants to have another run for the title or make big money.

Good time to take on Parker too.

I dunno if he was moving up anyway, but I guess it's a nice payday, a win would put him in the mix, and a respectable loss would secure his position as an opponent for world class heavies.

Heavyweights in those fights get paid well.

Correct ,, Think thats probably the answer Massey must be thinking time to move up with the big boys and the big money ,, and Parkers the right one at this time to make a statement against .
Parker on the other hand thinking , getting good dough to batter a midgit , he's too small for me .. Obviously a fight where the promoters trying to build something , what i don't know

How much till do you think Massey is making here? Mad Parker is out so early, that Joyce loss looked punishing. He was getting hit by those big heavy jabs a lot before Joyce switched him off. Massey doesn't look hugely heavy handed though so I'm unsure if he will be able to put a dent in Parker. It's a bizarre fight but I'm actually really curious now

I’m not surprised. They were talking about the headliner that it would sell out instantly which it clearly hasn’t. It’s not sold badly but I don’t think they were anticipating needing to try and shift the last 4-5,000. Getting a few more locals on will help a little. Surprised they haven’t tried to get Cullen on - I don’t think he’s got a deal with Eddie anymore (may well be wrong on that).

It’s probably only an 8 rounder and Jack is fairly local so he should be able to help the promoters move some tickets as others have said.

I’m very surprised Parker is already back after such a punishing fight- I find it very odd actually.

Anyway, I don’t blame him for taking the runout.

What an absolutey bizarre fight, totally random.

And I fully agree with some of the comments about Parker coming back too soon, he took a horrible and sustained beating from Joyce (an argument could be made for retirement)
