12 (or 15) Rounds Super Lightweight Bout

In a classic boxing match, Sweet Pea would out-box and out-hustle his Olympic teammate Taylor behind his southpaw jabs and quick combinations to take a decision. What do you guys think and who do you got?

I'm on the fence here. Taylor was a serious player with exceptional speed and skills. Sweet Pea wasn't bad either. Sorry, I can't call this one.

Taylor wasn't the same after his fight with Julio Cesar Chavez because of how brutal it was for him. Taylor lost to Chavez in 1990 by TKO in round 12 with two seconds left. Had the fight not been stopped, Taylor would have won by split decision. When Whitaker fought Chavez a few years later, it was scored as a majority draw with two judges scoring it 115-115. I viewed it as a win for Whitaker.

They have another common opponent in Buddy McGirt. Taylor defeated McGirt in 1988 by TKO in round 12. Whitaker defeated McGirt in 1993 by unanimous decision.

I think if Whitaker vs. Taylor was before Taylor's fight against Chavez in 1990, then Taylor wins. If it is after, then Whitaker wins.

Whitaker was a tad bit more skilled than Taylor. Close one, but Whitaker by UD.

The great Pernell Whitaker by split decision. I don't know. It could go either way. Especially, the Meldrick Taylor before the brutal Julio Cesar Chavez fight.

But, then again. Would Sweet Pea draw with someone like Howard Davis who was towards the end of his career?

Honestly, I don't think Sweet Pea would draw with Howard, but he would have a very tough fight.
