Do you think Tim Tszyu will ever be anything?

I have seen only glimpses of him fighting and haven't seen anything special yet. Of course I could be wrong. Didn't he say he'll go heavyweight someday? :-?

Probably a titlist in today's multi-belt era. He's only one win away from something special though (see Kambosos, who also wasn't heavily favoured). I don't see multi-weight world champion or P4P rankings in his future though.

He has decent backing, which is almost as important as actually being a good boxer these days.
So I think he will get multiple opportunities to go for a belt, even if he doesn't first succeed.
He puts the work in at the gym and has stamina, that's also important in championship 12 rounders.
He also has a bit of power.
There was a scare in his fight against Gausha where he was briefly down in round 1, but he got up, regrouped and came on strong.
I doubt he will be the guy to unify belts, but I expect him to win one and hold onto it for a while. He is young, has a good team and management.

With most prospects, we don’t truly know what to expect until that step up.

He has that next hopefully the Charlo fight happens soon.

Could have easily happened in the last 4 months.

bit of an underdog vs charlo but Think he will win a belt at some point. Hard to say if he will ever be top dog of a division but given the name and Australia’s weird boxing market he should get plenty of opportunity.

Would love to see him win. Him, his brother, huni, jai, moloneys, kambo, garside, zerapha spark, aikido , paro and a few other fresh faces. Feels like there’s actually enough for aus to build a home boxing scene around right now…

Not sure he could beat Charlo, would easily pick up a commonwealth title whilst he's waiting for his shot though. He would grab lots of other area and regional titles. He's quite good I think.

Wouldn’t pick him to beat Charlo but he’s decent, and the reality of boxing is he’s got some hype behind him so promoters will put him in with very beatable opposition for an alphabet belt at some point in the near future IMO. I would be surprised if he doesn’t win a belt

Historically there has been many sons and daughters of famous champions who tried their hands at boxing and only a handful of them ever made it as top contenders or champions in their own right.

I will say in this day and age it is so much simpler and easier to become something in boxing then maybe at any other time in history considering we have YouTubers making tens of millions of dollars facing old men.

It won't take much time at all for Tim Tszyu getting into a title match as long as he isn't pitted against some spoiler they never saw coming, but whether he can actually become champion even as an alphabet strap holder is all dependent on him.

Jermell Charlo is extremely beatable so Tim Tszyu may well be the Undisputed 154 pound Champion before years end.

Be anything? Kind of a silly question.

Becoming a successful professional boxer is a great accomplishment.

Yeh I'm on the Tszyu train, he he has that calmness and coolness about him that I like in fighters although they often let me down

I'm not really convinced by Tszyu nor by Fundora.
I don't think they could ever beat someone like Charlo, but they could pick up a title after he vacates.
They should hope they don't have to fight Harrison or Castano for those titles though.

I think he will follow the career path of Anthony Mundine.
Entered the sport with his daddies last name and the recognition that comes with that name in boxing, goes on to win alphabet titles a couple times but at no point in his career had a reasonable case as the #1 boxer in any division and spends the majority of his career in domestic fights that sell in his homeland but don't move the meter on the world scene.

I think if he loses to Charlo he fights Hogan in a big aussie fight

A one fight and he can become undisputed.
