Seriosly, if Joe beats Woods, who cares. Woods is a guy who wand HANDLED by Roy and beaten twocer by Glencoffe... he is an ordinary fighter. The Woods that got PULVERISED against Jones is no better than the woods that beat Hoya, Hoya was just very OIPEN TO SHOT AND EASILY HURT. Don't believe any of this "I were badly for those fights" shit from Woods. THAT IS HIS LEVEL.
So, if Calzaghe beats woods..... SO fornicating WHAT!
Woods was handled by all of the top fighters and Calzaghe isn't proving anything by beating Woods.
Woods is poor.

You are a twat.

Wow, lirva should change his monicker to 'fart in a church' because he's about as popular as one!

Woods is poor.
A poor fighter would not go twelve rounds twice with Glen Johnson.
A poor fighter would not beat Rico Hoye.
Many a good fighter has lost to RJJ.
Pointless and inaccurate criticsm.
Please engage brain before you type unless you are attempting humour in which case you are very funny if not a little boring.

RJJ totally dominated the 90's, not many people would stand to him, woods fought a brilliant fight against Hoye, very tactical and ket a clear mind!! he is definetly world class talent!! nobody should doubt him.

Credit is due to Clinton Woods big time. Against Hoye, Woods looked brillant and I would fancy him in that form against Glen Johnson for a third time.
However...this is the problem with boxing and i'm certainly not having a dig at Clinton.
Clinton is 'World' Champion as a result of the IBF trying to bust Glen Johnson's balls. When he wouldnt let them, he gave the title up and so Clinton rightfully fought for the vacant title.
Thing is, Glen Johnson is the real World Champion, whereas Clinton is only the IBF Champion...in reality Clinton's title means very little. Therefore the tradegy is should Clinton get beat by Calzaghe, who then claims to be a two-time World champion - he will do so without any legitimacy. Until one of them fights the true champion that is Johnson, any other title means little which is a travesty for such a deserving fighter as Clinton.
Though fair credit, Clinton has already said he's not interested in Calzaghe and instead wants a third fight with Glen Johnson.

lirva has a point, all he's saying is that if calzaghe steps up and beats woods, really he'll only have beaten another 'contender' level fighter, albeit one who was lucky enough to get 4 title shots and finally win one, which isn't even the legitimate title.
clinton is not a poor fighter in relation to the division, but in a talent packed division his eliminator may have been one which he couldn't win.

With Woods looking so much sharper and fitter I wouldn't even make Calzaghe a favourite over him. No way would Joe be able to shake him up with one shot, and you'd have to favour Clinton to be stronger in there.

Lirva may have a point, but the same is true in pretty much every weight division, so why single Woods out. How many unified weight divisions do we have, 3? There are plenty of champions who are no more than contenders in every weight division.

Clinton did look like a different fighter against Hoye!... gone was the cauition and lack of self belief!... so give the man some credit!.
The fact that Clinton gave Johnson 2 good fights shows that Woods is no bum... the man has proved his world class quality and has indeed improved... hopefully he will fight Johnson for a 3rd time.

what difference will a third fight make? Woods has already proved he can't beat johnson. Just so happened that Hoye was made for him and he looked good, but what does this change?

Livra does have a point, and that is why I want Clinton to establish himself as a world champion first of all. If Joe beats Clinton and then repeats his Super Middleweight feats then what has he shown. Without meaning to be direspectful, boxing politics has given Woods this chance. It was a disgrace that Glengoffe AND Tarver got stripped.
I'm NOT saying Woods didn't deserve the chance, or Woods isn't a worthy champion. In my opinion it is yes to both, but let him prove it by making maybe two defence. A routine defence followed by a clash with Tarver, Johnson, Griffin or Jones would be succifient to say that the winner is now a proven world champion.
If Joe beats Woods and does very little himself after, the critics will still hound him. If Clinton slips up and Joe beats his victor, Woods vs Calzaghe is still a good domestic clash.

I agree, I'd much rather see Clinton establish his credentials as a bona-fide world champion.

Clinton may not be an all time great at the weight but he has shown what great world class determination he has.
Johnson also will never be remembered as an all time great, and he too has his limitations, but he is recognised as THE best lightheavy at THIS moment.
All credit to Clinton, his determination should never be overlooked.
And some people here should stop giving Calzaghe a free ride off Clinton, let him prove what he can do at his own weight first before he spouts off what he wants to do in Clintons.
Prove it against Oboh Joe :x

Woods is poor.
You see it realistically, Calzaghe would easily win. that´s sure. Woods has just average european niveau. E.g. a Kurzawa, who isn´t the hero, would give him problems. Woods will make an easy defence and then the first good boxer will beat him.
