For Hagler I'd say it's the Duran fight. A Duran who hadn't been doing too hot of late held him to within a point. That being said I'm sure Duran was as prepared as he could've been for a shot at the Middleweight Title.

Leonard...probably the Hearns rematch, which he should've lost, but is a successful defense due to it being called a draw.

I can't really think of another of Hagler's defenses where he won by such a slim margin though. Usually he won very clearly.

It could've honestly been nerves. Even though he had been the Champion for a while, I'm sure Duran at the time was his biggest fight/payday he'd ever had.

I agree, SRL should’ve lost that.

Hearns typically won every round in successful title defenses. Kitchens was a pretty tough fight but that was for a vacant belt. Leonard was a title defense/unifer but he won the fight despite the draw score. Maybe the fact that Minchillo and Ojajide (who was coming off a loss) lasted the distrance makes them his worst successful title defenses but he dominated both fights if I remember correctly

I think one of the three judges gave 1 round to Medal. It was a butt kick end to end. Elmer didn't get this one right.

The Hitman should have knocked out Mark Medal within the first 3 rounds. He didn't because of his right hand got injured again in a fight. That was not Hearns' standards. The crowd even booed.

Take it how you want to take it. Mark Medal was not in Thomas Hearns' class but he lasted more than 5 rounds. A Hearns with a healthy right hand it would have been over between 1 and 2 rounds. Medal did never indicate that he was that good.
