Where does Leigh go now? He really impressed me yesterday. He was countering well and I had him ahead. He just got caught by a perfect hook from a huge puncher. I don't buy it when people say he's just british level (which is still an achievement) as I think he's up there still.

Who would you put him in with next?

If no Lara fight im thinking Kiko Martinez. Ex world champion, fan friendly. European title, a guy who's known to fans and not in bad fights.

He can come many times again.

Plenty of fights out there.

Bit of a risk but I’d let Conlan v Lopez play out (if it gets announced soon), hope Conlan wins and go for the rematch. Big money, Wood gets a shot at a belt, Conlan gets his chance at revenge and you could probably do that fight at Manchester Arena or something.

Arum isn’t doing too bad in the division either - Lopez, Conlan and Robeisy Ramirez.

Depends how soon the Conlan/Lopez fight is mate. If it’s May as rumoured then he’d probably just sit it out until October/November.

After that stellar performance, I'm going to say 50/50 for the rematch.
And he should rematch.
He hurt Lopez with a left hook to the body, hopefully he can see that and work on it, because he wasn't having much success to the head, even though his shots were crisp, flush, and accurate.
He just needed a bit more to deter Lopez, and body work is the answer.

I’d like to see the rematch straight away. Wood was winning that fight and Lara was starting to look like he was running out of steam until he unleashed that hook.

On a side note Lara’s chin was excellent. Took some real big shots and never looked hurt, except with a shot to the body (if I remember correctly).

Wood v warrington, winner gets the chance to be hammered again by Lara.

He was fighting really well but Im not sure going back in with Lara is a good idea.

I think he can take a lesser opponent, then do the Warrington fight possibly for a belt in which he'd be favourite and then he's back at the top again.

But id love the Lara fight again. It wasnt anything like the firefight suggested but it was so interesting to watch the ebb and flow and the heavy hands plus a great finish.

That Lara has unreal power and a very good chin. I think Wood can punch and those straight rights weren't doing much to Lara

Wouldn't even mind seeing him and Dickens run it back at some stage though the ibo title isn't classed as legit by a lot of people and it's not big money. They're both good honest battlers

Has a rematch clause if he wants it. Hard not to want it when you were winning 5-1… but hard to want it when you got chinned…

I think him against Warrington is still a stadium fight. Wood boxed beautifully against Lara, some incredible skills on show but got tagged and that was it. Let's have the two brits with huge fan bases against each other. Both have missed out on Vegas, let's have a huge night in the uk

Have a couple of months off & then have a relatively soft comeback fight whilst Lopez - Conlan & Lara - Warrington (doesn’t deserve a shot) take place & hope one of Conlan & Warrington win so you’ve got a big fight & pay day to come.

End of the day he’s 34, he’s been stopped twice & had a few wars. There’s not many 34 year old featherweights at the top level. It’s all about getting one last pay day & I’m sure Conlan or Warrington would be bigger than a Lara rematch.

I enjoyed the first one, and given the edge of the seat nature- now we know Lara can one punch stop Wood at least up until mid fight - it's a tasty rematch I'd definitely want to see.
I really can't fault Wood, he boxed really well. Sweet accurate counters, crisp attacking shots, and his defence was decent but ultimately fallible.

As said, I would look at Kiko for European whilst waiting, potentially at Nottingham or a Jazza Dickens revenge match / Jordan Gill fight. Hard not to want to see the rematch but I think that was a hard ko. I think Lara is the man at that weight and handily beats Lopez.

I think it's a good move in fairness. He could get a good opponent for it and he would complete the trio of domestic titles. I know they had a rule where you need to be coming off a win to fight for it though. I reckon him and Kiko would mesh well. As for Kiko I hope he does the business. If he wins another world title would he be Spain's best ever?
